Stein doubles down in his latest update. Say it would be a surprise if FVV(2/84) and Brooks(15 mil a year) don't end up in Houston.

If that happens Houston doesn't have a competitive offer for Brook.

Nehm/athletic reporting that Lopez will be meeting with Houston today

I truly can’t understand why Brook is even entertaining the Houston stuff.. it really makes zero sense unless he just really hates the cold and paying real estate taxes. That’s the only benefit I can see for him to rather be in Houston than Milwaukee.

I found it interesting that Horst said during the draft presser about Khris that he’s earned the right to test free agency. Making it 100% sound like the Bucks gave him his number they’re offering but “hey, if you can find a more lucrative deal go for it..”. And also how he made no mention of Brooks free agency in any regard…. Are the Bucks showing Brook the cold shoulder or even tough love this off season or something? I’d love to be a fly on the wall in Horsts office if only for a few minutes….

If we’ve made it public we want Brook back and he wants to be back, why entertain Houston?

If Brook comes back though I’d prefer to fill out the bigs rotation with the minimum.

Going off Bobby Marks' free agent projections, the guys that are projected less than $10 mil (feels like a guy projected under $10 mil could theoretically be interested in the TPMLE with us) that I'd be somewhat interested in:

Ayo Dosunmu (restricted so almost certainly not)
Dennis Schroder
Dennis Smith
Seth Curry
Josh Richardson
Lonnie Walker
Eric Gordon
Hamidou Diallo
Josh Okogie
Kelly Oubre
Jalen McDaniels
Oshae Brissett
Taurean Prince
Dario Saric

Yeah, I'm stunned that the Houston stuff is looking like an actual, even if still a long-shot, possibility. Maybe just a ploy by Brook and his agent to force us to match an offer, but unless we just low-balled the **** out of him, I don't get his motivation here. If they were this far apart on extension numbers then that's a little bit troubling.

Obviously the biggest linchpin for the Bucks/Brook is FVV. If FFV goes to the Rockets it's likely Houston offer would be similar to us in the 17ish million range.

If FFV goes back to Toronto or somewhere other than the Rockets I fully expect to lose Brook.

Oubre feels redundant with our draft and two ways, not the best shooter. Davis feels like a more complete player, better shooter, good handles, passing, and defense. Davis might be redundant too if Moore breaks out but not a bad problem to have. We need guards and Davis has some playoff experience to build on.

Oshae Brissett Intrigues me if we can get him cheap. Wonder if the Pacers want him back

The numbers on this supposed Houston deal seem pretty affordable to us. Will be interesting to see what happens -- I still think roster upheaval is likely, but would have expected the Bucks to be fine paying Brook 15-18m/yr.

ETA: I misread WiscoKing's post (Brooks vs. Brook)

Better coach, loaded (but young as hell) roster. Idk, probably a number out there that makes sense for brook to choose Houston over us. We are limited by that second apron on money to bring both back. Can pay one more if the other bolts but these two aren’t getting younger so I’d hate to get stuck with a dead contract and no assets to move off it with.

I've watched many Wolves games the last season, no doubt that Taurean Prince would be great here. 38% 3pt, mental toughness, athleticism. Perfect back up 3 for Khris. He can play starter as well, if needed.

I also believe that Shake Milton is underrated. He is a promising young player, with size and physicality, he also can shoot well.(Not 100% sure though, right now he's streaky).
He couldn't shine in Phili with Maxey/Harden/Melton. Maybe he will find his way here. A great back up 2. Maybe he can get the starting place from Grayson. He is definitely stronger and can defend better the J's of this world. Not so eager to defend as i've seen him, i hope he realizes that he should hustle more in order to be rich.

Among the names i've read here, these are the two i prefer the most. Maybe Jalen McDaniels deserves to be in the discussion, too.

Taurean Prince Is a terrible defender. Feel like Jevon Carter is a better player than Shake. Shake never got good at any one skill.

Some droppingdimes20 account was going off the rails yesterday when the Harden thing dropped saying he knew all along with his sources or whatever and this account appears to be related/gaining notoriety just because of what the other account did yesterday. I don't think it's really anything worth paying attention to right now. I'm sure we'd be interested if Lillard becomes available though.

Have a friend who is a big wolves fan. Said he's a reliable shooter who can get really hot from 3, can finish around the basket, plays hard, great locker room guy. But not a great defender, which surprised me because I thought he was a 3 and D guy. Overall was disappointed to see him go and thinks he's probably worth the non-tax MLE.

No he is not. He is average defender at least. As for Shake and Jevon, right now, Carter is indeed better. I've mentioned Milton because i think he is promising.
