Still, Indy has it in 2021 and while they are a good deal bigger, I think we should be in the running.

The PGA Championship regularly brings courses over 200,000 visitors. That is unique visitors - not the same person coming on four days being counted four times. Whistling Straits' last championship was estimated over $100M economic impact, also.

$130M economic impact for Erin Hills' Us Open. That is more than cited numbers for New Orleans' last all-star game.

How many rooms does the NBA require for the ASG? I know Milwaukee metro is on the low end for number of rooms and especially high end rooms but I still think it shouldn't be a reason to deny.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

My bad. I didn't think that many people traveled for golf. Kinda makes me said actually...

The lack of understanding is on your part. Golf is a bigger draw. It's not close.

Like they said, they have plenty of rooms in Lake Geneva/Kohler to fit everyone with the same commute as it would be in LA.

To host a weekend of celebrity-infused parties, complete with star-player glitz and glamour, the league requires cities to have 5,500 downtown hotel rooms. Right now, Sacramento has 3,500.

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015/02/03/nba-commissioner-sacramentos-all-star-game-hopes-rest-on-number-of-hotel-rooms/

Visit Milwaukee had downtown at 4,952 rooms but that was before Springhill Suites, The Westin, The Kimpton and Homewood Suites opened. That brings us to 5,574 and who knows how many more hotel rooms we'll have 5 years from now. And of course we could also tell the league that while it's not within the defined area of downtown, Potawatomi Hotel is pretty much the same distance to the arena as the Westin is. So you could add another 380 rooms.

Edit: Forgot to add that Potawatomi is adding an addition to their current hotel with an additional 119 rooms.

The last time Milwaukee was talked about for an ASG there was a lot of "players will fake injuries to stay out of a weekend in Milwaukee". I don't know if that would happen but it certainly wouldn't be a destination players or media would look forward to.

The season can be a grind and the all-star break is like vacation for these guys. Would you rather hang out and party in Vegas with your friends for a weekend or would you rather brave the elements in a mid-sized midwestern city in the coldest month of the year? I get that this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but as a lifelong WI resident that **** hates cold weather, I empathize.

So I used the new parking garage tonight because apparently Disney on Ice and some America's Got Talent winner is really popular and also because I'm the experiment guy so you guys don't have to and I have to say it's pretty great.

Heated in the inside part, fast elevator, wide stairs if you use the stairwell, really wide space to drive in and out. They can roll two lanes in at a time, they have cones set up as barriers to keep cars in their own lane and lots of people guiding you where to go (although they didn't really need that.) Well lit. Easy to read signs. Now I left after midnight so it might be a pain in the ass to get out of but I really doubt that it would be. Even have a sign at the entrance telling you how many spaces are left though I don't think it's updated a lot because it was 651 when I got in and 651 when I left.

And this was only $10 and if it was that much for a crowded night, I'm guessing it's only $10 every night.

I’d rather not have an ASG... that just means Bieber comes into town to play the celeb all-star game as a burned out 30-something. He will monopolize the Arts and the rest of us regulars will have to go to Silk or something.

More info here.

Miller Brewing Company is a new Founding Partner of the upcoming world-class Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center (WESC) and the exclusive beer and malt beverage partner of the new arena. The Miller Brewing Co. will also continue as the exclusive beer and malt beverage partner of the Milwaukee Bucks. The comprehensive partnership expands the long-term relationship of the two world-renowned brands with deep Milwaukee roots in advance of the team’s new arena, which opens in the fall of 2018.

“The Bucks are proud that Miller Brewing Co., a fabric of our city, has become a Founding Partner of Milwaukee’s new dynamic arena,” said Bucks President Peter Feigin. “Miller Brewing Co. has been a long-time partner of the Bucks, and we’re excited to further our relationship and activate our brands together in our new venue.”

“Miller Brewing has enjoyed an incredible partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks since they were founded 50 years ago,” said Jim Kanter, Miller Brewing General Manager for Wisconsin. “Having such an extensive history with the franchise makes us even more proud to be named one of the Founding Sponsors of the new arena, and be part of the next exciting chapter for not only the team, but all of Milwaukee.”

The partnership will include extensive Miller Brewing Co. branding and integration throughout the WESC including three main bar locations. On the main concourse of the arena will be The Miller Brewing Co. bar and a Leinenkugel’s bar, with a Coors Light bar on the upper concourse. All three bars will feature direct sight lines into the arena bowl, providing views of the event. The upper concourse will also include the Coors Light Silver Bullet Suite, which will be an exclusive event space for limited events with a capacity of up to 60 guests.

Miller Brewing Co. will also bring innovative, arena-specific products to the WESC that will be featured at each of its bar locations. In addition to being the exclusive beer and malt beverage of the Milwaukee Bucks and WESC, Miller Brewing Co. will continue to be the title sponsor of the Bucks Bar Network – a program developed for fans to watch Bucks games at featured bars across Wisconsin with drink specials – and the presenting sponsor for the Bucks Night Out ticket package.

Miller Brewing Co. joins BMO Harris Bank, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin and Johnson Controls as Founding Partners of the new Bucks arena.

Nice. I'm thinking about trying it Sunday if we go to the game since it is an afternoon game and good time to test how much of a pain it is to get out of there.
