Feel like Grant is obviously miscast as a #1 guy but we’d be filthy with him as a 4th/5th option and as that strong athletic forward in switch everything lineups.

I have no clue what Grant's value is because CHI "insiders" claim DET and CHI are close to a deal centered around Grant for Coby White + filler. You'd think that Nwora + Donte would be a better package than White.

Idk. Nwora is what? A couple of weeks from even putting himself on anyone's radar and Donte's injury issues haven't exactly been a boon to his value. Coby White's IQ leaves some to be desired, but he had a pretty solid counting stats season last year and was a legitimate lottery talent when he came into the league. His youth doesn't hurt either.

That trade sounds good in theory, as grant gives us that long defensive minded forward we need, but the problem is grant is sort of prejudiced in that he mainly likes playing for black head coaches, which bud is not.

It looks like one of the reasons he went to Detroit is cause there is black leadership. That is very different than refusing or being a malcontent playing for a white coach. If that's the case, then I probably lost a lot of respect for him.

Kornet is an experienced player who can protect the rim but also has the agility to defend on space. He isn't a rebound collector, but he boxes out. Early in his career he was an awesome 3 point shooter. He just makes teams better. Good to get a look now in case we get another injury, or if they decide Boogie is too big of a defensive liability.

You think Kornet's defense is better than Cousins?

My scouting report on Luke Kornet is if you switch out the K in his surname for a H you get... well, I'll leave that up to you.

I think that of everyone. Now, Cousins can score, and he collects rebounds, but in a playoff setting, I think Cousins would be more negative than Kornet, though I admit I don't want to think of the catastrophe that causes either to appear in a playoff game.

Kornet is just a nice team defender, smart, long, agile, and disciplined. He might never actually appear in a game as a Buck, but I'm relieved we're at least taking a look.

2nd fun fact: Luke is the NCAA all time leader in 3s by a 7 footer.

I thought Frank had some potential back in the day. He was surprisingly bouncy. Then he tore his ACL, and that was a death sentence back then.

You would rather have Luke Kornet in a playoff game over Boogie Cousins. Good to know.

The Kornet signing just seems like insurance in case the team is hit by COVID. Wake me up if he gets past the 10 day contract.

I've been intrigued by Kornet's size/skillset/relative youth in Bud's system for a few years, we really don't have anybody that can protect the rim other than Giannis right now and Brook's future is looking more uncertain so I like kicking the tires on some other options. Boogie is def atrocious defensively tho, I can't think of a more heavy footed player in the league right now. I like Cousin's as a personality and the edge he plays with I feel like I underappreciated Brook watching his limitations.

Boogie looks bad usually because he's attempting to defend further from the rim than he should (or Brook would) given the current condition of his legs and also because he seems to have a bad relationship with most senior refs. One of those things can probably be fixed, dunno if he'll make friends with the zebras tho.

Let's be honest. The reason he's on team #6 is because he's mentally like an 8-year old child out there. It isn't that he lacks talent.

Looks to me like he's living with depression and struggles to stay positive with himself when he has minor setbacks. He doesn't come across as a prick or immature. Hope he's seeing someone about it, I've come to quite like him.

Have zero complaints he's on the team. He's helped us a lot at times. But I've watched the guy his whole career because I loved him at Kentucky. Not sure his situation is correctable. He's easily distracted by a lot of stuff, and after 11 years in the league hasn't really figured out how to keep his focus on the court. He'd be headed for the HOF if the mental part was there.

I don't think it's anywhere near good enough for Detroit. They are a tanking team, hence they do not need Brook. Nwora is probably a non-factor. It would practically be Jerami for DDV+fillers on their part. Highly doubt DDV holds enough value to net us Jerami.

If Detrout thinks Nwora is a non factor in the deal, then Detroit is, well, as dumb as I think they are.

I do agree that they'll get better offers, but Nwora would give their offense a jolt.
