Not just because it looks nice. You can propel yourself forward and redirect the defender with a little "underhanded" dribbling. I sometimes think what old-timey ball-handlers like Bob Cousy could have done if they didn't have to dribble with an up-and-down yo-yo motion but instead got to thumb their nose at NBA rule 10 the way modern players do and drive themselves forward with the dribble:

10d. A player who is dribbling may not put any part of his hand under the ball and (1) carry it from one point to another or (2) bring it to a pause and then continue to dribble again.

Steph Curry always dribbles with his hand below the equator of the ball, which is a violation. And of course a huge advantage.

Yes, he frequently travels.

He also gets away with a lot of fouls (on block attempts). This one is sort of a wash because of the 15 times a game opponents flop, as well as the 10 times he gets shoved and hacked and it goes uncalled.

He gets away with travels, although I have seen him called for some where there was no travel at all. He gets away with charges, but opposing teams get away with twice as many defensive fouls on him from hitting his arm or completely undercutting him/flopping. Nobody should disagree that there are times he gets superstar calls, but even the most avid Bucks hater should be able to admit there are games.....especially crucial games (i.e. Celtics playoff series and most of last postseason) that the refs allow Giannis to get hacked by lesser players while calling every touch foul they can on him.

I don't care if you allow Giannis to get away with fouling the Kings on some random Tuesday when you are going to let average players like Grant Williams, Claxton and over-the-hill players like Blake Griffin/Al Horford continue to mug him on his way to the basket.

Yeah, I was thinking something similar. Do you think they’re just looking to draft two controllable assets?

I like that Denver is an organization that values end-of-draft capital as a means to supplement their core roster. Hopefully we start doing something similar.

Woj basically laid it out as Denver just wanting additional flexibility for their limited cap/to save money on their tax bill.

Seems like a good deal for Thunder. Later first round draft pick is surely better than 30 and they don’t really need it this year. And the future seconds will let them keep drafting prospects.

Yeah OKC is hitting the point where roster space becomes an issue with all the picks so I get dealing one now for one later.

Now there's also a bit of the basketball version of a Ponzi scheme to how presti runs things :)

I am getting flashbacks of the pregame anxiety when your team is going into game 5 of the NBA Finals with the series 2-2. The valley-oop will live on forever.

Part of me misses it and wishes the Bucks were in the Finals and part of me is happy I can watch the game tonight as neutral fan with no pressure. Of course I would much rather the Bucks be in the Finals right now, but maybe it's good for our health that we got a 1 year break until we get back next season....lol.

Draymond is like watching the NBA players in Space Jam after the Monstars took their abilities. If this dude didn't end up in GS he would be out of the league by now.

Dubs offense looks great- lots of easy baskets and clean looks.

I want to make a clever Chesa/Chase Center joke about the San Francisco crowd but can't quite get it down.

Should have been an offensive foul on Horford for points 5/6. He dipped in his shoulder into his defender....Giannis was called for that a # of times in the C's series

All series ive said needs to be more aggressive. He’s got opportunities, as the Cs def gameplan is not focused on him.

But he generally has looked very tentative and he takes too long to make decisions.

3 fouls on looney is crazy even though I agree with two of them. Kerr just riding it out, Porter jr can’t ply big minutes right now.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
