A guy we think we know, but then gets a better opportunity as he moves up in the pecking order and flourishes.

It probably wasn’t all that long ago that the clippers were actively shopping him, and this year he’s been a very capable third option for them.

Thought you were wondering who we could trade for the next Grievis Vasquez.

Maybe that’s the better question to ask

Harden after having a spat with Daryl Morey netted 2 1sts, a swap, 2 2nds, and salary filler. I think something around that would be the return for Dame.

WOuldn't trade Giannis unless he asked out, but let say the nets get the #1 pick, would you turn down Flagg/Johnson/Bucks 2025 1st/Nets 2028 and 2030 1st for Giannis?

If Doc comes back, can we swing a billboard?

Anyone think Nate Oats would be a good hire if he was interested in going to the NBA?

They wouldn't trade us Cam Johnson because part of the point would be to acquire Giannis to play w/ him & another guy they acquired. And Cam is pushing 30.

I'd much rather get our other picks back from NO & BKN could give NO what they wanted. For us I'd want Flagg/another prospect/our pick back from BKN this season/our picks back from NO in '26, '27. I'd do that, unless I'm blown away by the FA signings w/ the MLE, & trade for Dame.

Not a bad comparison.

Dame Time’s history being clutch in the playoffs is a contrast in our favor.

He also doesn’t have as bad of injury history or attitude problems as Harden.

Dame wouldn’t require an extension but he’s paid enough more where that might be a wash.

More importantly is whether (or how forcefully) he’d try to go somewhere specific. However he hasn’t tanked lockerroons like Harden has which is a level up from what happened in Portland.

I’ve thought about this exact trade. Would not be shocked if that’s our offseason “move”. It’d certainly be another treadmill trade that makes us even older.

Doesn’t hurt that Dame and DeRozan are tight.

I’m not a DeRozan guy but he’s certainly better than Kuzma, even with DeMar’s defensive concerns.

This is something to consider if you trade Dame. You don't combine those 2.

If Giannis asks out, I take that in a heartbeat.

If I were the Nets, I offer that trade but ask the Bucks to also take Claxton to completely clear their books and see who wants to sign or be traded to play with Giannis in Brooklyn. (Besides Claxton and Johnson, the only guys who are not UFA for them are three guys with team options and two nonguaranteed players, they could hilarious make that trade, wave all cap holds, and have Giannis plus 65% of the cap to sign or trade for whoever)

Nets would have the following tradeable picks even if they did the Giannis deal above (assuming they did it after making one of the 25 selections on the behalf of the Bucks or another trade partner) : NYK 25, Hous 25, 25 2nd, 26 1st, 26 2nd, 26 Atl 2nd, 27 NYK 1st, 28 swap, 28 2nd, 28 Memphis 2nd, 28 Atl 2nd, 29 NYK 1st, 2030 four 2nds, 2031 NYK 1st. All of those are unprotected.

Could you build a contender this offseason with only Giannis under contract, 65% of the cap available, and 6 1sts/10 2nds to trade?

Love Nate, but the history of NBA outsiders isn't great, and not the risk we should be taking.

It was partially a bet he'd bounceback this yr, which has backfired thus far. One would be remiss to compound that by moving him now. It'd be calamitous "asset management, which the Bucks have shown previously. Sure, why not attach another AJJ (we don't have) to him.

It's a gamble, but if he continues to suck, then we also botched the asset management.

I don't think he has the competitive desire to bounce back. We might find a sucker who will still gamble on him.

My guess is their plan is a re-tool around Giannis/Dame and hope to get lucky. I get it, it sucks to kind of punt and its fair to think hey we have 2 years left to go for it. Feels like a tough needle to thread to somehow turns the roster around them into legit contenders, but without owning their own picks you can't blame for not wanting to suck.

But if they do try to play a middle ground and are open to a Dame trade, Houston seems like a pretty good option. Assuming they lose, they might view as the piece to put over the top, vet to help the youth, etc. FVV contract matches up and is an ok player, they have tons of 1sts, maybe can get 1-2 younger rotation guys back too. I'd probably vote this route over running it back, you'd get some youth, assets, FVV is younger to re-trade down the line. Maybe there would be a way to build a deep team around Giannis that route instead of the top heavy way they've been since the Jrue trade. IDK, guess I'm just saying Dame seems a great fit for Hous, and they have a lot of logical pieces we could use. Maybe some kinda 3 way could happen to get our picks from NO with it

The Nets don’t have to include Johnson, they can take on all of Giannis salary if they wanted to. For me it’s a yes based on Flagg plus the picks. Don’t need Cam Johnson included. I’d leave it up to the Nets if they wanted to include Johnson and/or Claxton to clear cap space to sign or trade for guys, if if they want to keep them to pair with Giannis. If they don’t plan to retain Cam Thomas, I’d ask if they are willing to include him as a S&T in the deal if Thomas would want a starting role with the Bucks since if Giannis is moved, Dame is getting moved to. That Cam is only 23 so he’s a nice guard to either command a tank or level up and become better.

For the Bucks, Flagg/picks/Cam Thomas S&T really clears up the cap. Let everyone besides KPJ/AJG/Sims walk, including Bobby. Kuz either rebuilds his trade value or is an expiring salary the year after. Pat can hang out on the bench for another year or be used in a trade if they want to absorb some bad salary for taking on assets.

KPJ/Cam Thomas/AJG/Rollins/Flagg/Sims/whatever you get for Dame wouldn’t win a lot but it would be a fun team to root for.

Again all a hypothetical where Giannis asks out, Nets get the first pick. I wouldn’t proactively trade Giannis unless he asks out or refuses his next extension.

Don't really love that Jimmy Haslem overruled his football ops today and drafted a guy his staff didn't want.

Agree. I hope it goes horribly, and is a deterant for Jimmy to continue to interfere with the Bucks.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures. And the Dutch.

We should honestly just sit Giannis the rest of the series. Pretty much gauranteed he's going to ask out now. Dame is done for next year, likely his career. There is 0 avenue for us to build a contender now.

Whose making the Kuzma tank commander gif?
