LOL I just got a great offer from the Cavs involving Ricky Davis, in my nba2k eras simulation. I was tempted… he was long, explosive, and a good player on paper. But I passed, because he was also a bit of a brick layer.

There just aren't many comps for KPJ. I honestly cant think of one.

Rich man’s Brandon Jennings is what I think of most. I just figure if Jennings was 6’4” 200lbs he’s probably KPJ right? Van Vleet seems weird only because I don’t see any similarities at all, style or stature. Bigger Nick Van Exel maybe if we stick with lefties? Idk it’s tough, you’re 100% correct. That’s the best I got lol.

lefties only, Cuttino Mobley? He probably fits, similar styles and size
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

The problem for me with a KPJ comp is that he frequently looks like an all NBA guy but isn't. I said last season he's like SGA x% of the time but a larger % of the time he's MCWesque.

His balance/agility/body control is superstar stuff and that's not really a thing you can learn, it's right there for him. Maybe a friendly rivalry with Rollins can have him realising some more of that awesome talent.

I like the “rich man’s brandon jennings” comp for KPJr. Both lefty, three level scorers. Both could look all star good or bench player wild. Both had a little street in their game.

I like KPJ at the wing as a downhill explosive player much more than at the 1. I think the less decision making he’s burdened with, the better he plays.

Poor man’s DeRozan.

That’s interesting if KPJ is being billed by the team as a SF.

Anyone else catch this? Is it in any other materials?

i would like this confirmed as wel by somebody who was either there or heard it on the tv as well. i thought plain as day i heard it before the game when they were announcing the roster and then the starting lineups to the crowd. i heard.....starting at small forward...from usc....kevin porrrter jr....then crowd roaring and of course jumping around and all that ****.

im not sure the arena announcer is doing anything besides reading his script but if thats what the team submitted then thats interesting right?

basketball reference has him for the first game as a SG...not the pg....not sure that matters either but saw that as well. his first year with cleveland hes listed as a SF.....no idea where they pull that info from but there is that too

Why are we comparing KPJ to so many players that didn't defend?

its all between the ears. im going to put it on the lockerroom as a whole. like even bobby can have a role on that. theres similarities there with those two.

i think this is the first time he'll have a chance on a team with all 3 of these points...

1. having a role and lots of oppurtunity
2. serious veteran leadership holding people accountable
3. winning as a nightly priority and something that happens often

hopefully it clicks between the ears..... but youre right he can be really really good. i like youre comps

Labels aside, he's got a 6-9 wingspan and an 8-7 standing reach to go with his burst and hops. He's more than adequate physically for the wing.

During the intros before the first game, KPJ was announced as a starting forward. AJG and GTJ were the starting guards.

Going into the season, Doc said Porter was the starting point guard. Doesn’t really matter wtf the PA guy said.

You are what you can guard. KPJ can cover wings if they ask him to. He’s got the length and the quickness and he’s sneaky strong. Any wing that is long enough and strong enough to dominate him, that’s someone you have to throw Kuzma or Giannis at.

This is the key right here. Rollins, one of the SGs and KPJ and you have standard measurements 1-3 while having two ball handlers and 2 point something shooters. Giving up nothing and being rich in a few things. Its funny on top of that as a bonus that everyone thinks we have nothing because everyone on the roster other than Giannis and Turner are cast offs.

Rollins | Anthony
Green | Trent Jr | Harris
Porter Jr | Prince | Coffey | AJJ
Giannis | Kuzma | Thanasis
Turner | Bobby | Sims
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

A better shooting, more efficient Sprewell is an awesome player. Hopefully it all comes together

I’m very high on Dairy and reasonably high on GTJ.

But I’m not positive about either of them starting long term in any of the smaller lineup combos we’ve been talking about.

GTJ may not even be with the team next season.

What’s the most we can offer him?

If we want to keep Cole Anthony we might need to use at least a chunk of the MLE.

If KPJ shows out it’ll cost us to keep him too.

They will have early bird rights on GTJ and KPJ, meaning they can pay them both close to full MLE money without using the MLE to do so. Cole would need cap space or MLE to sign for anything more than the min plus a small percentage raise. No one else needs to be re-signed.

Spre probably isn't remembered as good a player as he was. Lethal in transition. Strong and long on defense. I know we are throwing out comps as a fun exercise. It doesn't bother me. But I think Spre was a better and more versatile defender than KPJr. I also think KPJr is a better shooter. Spre could hit open looks but wasn't close to having KPJr's quick release package. Spre was going to drive on you, unless you played off and gave him the J. KPJr can get any shot he wants, from anywhere, and knock them down.
