not ready...

He is an 18 year old competing against grown men after all, so to be expected. Would be impressed if he was looking good though

It's a friendly. You can't really judge anything from this game.

Both teams are missing a lot of players.
Greece looks much better defensively and they have Giannis.
Thats enough for a 20p lead.

Thanasis athleticism, energy, and defensive potential is stunning. Wish he showed improvement in offence.

Koufos plays very well out there, i do not understand how he cannot find a spot on our team for example.

It is amazing how much better the refs are in a friendly match compared to NBA, its kinda refreshing.

Giannis played well in the 1st quarter, then the game got super boring.

Good stuff from the first friendly, i really loved the multiple positions Giannis played and guarded. The young guys like Agravanis and Papapetrou look good.
This NT looks promising.

If you want to judge the team's level you should wait for the last friendly against Serbia.Turkey looked terrible. That should tell you if there is a good chance of beating Italy and qualifying.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

They called two travels on Giannis that as far as I know were supposed to be obsolete in FIBA games starting this year. What am I missing?

1)Go at https://hola.org/ and download the app for the browser you are using.
2)Click on the flame face thing that will appear on your browser and through there choose the greek flag.
3)Go at http://webtv.ert.gr/ert1/ and watch Giannis. If nothing happens make sure you disable ad-block for the current page.
4)When the game is over remove hola by right clicking it and uninstall.

Cheers.

Be careful with using Hola. It can steal your bandwidth.

Exactly. The only teams in the world that take friendlies seriously seem to be USA and maybe Canada. Every other country is simply using it as a practice session. As far as Turkey goes, they are pretty much known as the one European team above all others that puts in no effort to win friendly games.

I think they lost every single friendly they played the same summer they finished 2nd in the World Cup.

That only applies to Team USA. Not to any other teams.

It applies to Team USA only as of now. It will be extremely stupid if FIBA changes to allow carrying the ball and traveling, like the NBA does. It's the one main thing along with any defense being legal that makes FIBA still in any way relevant. Besides that, FIBA is an absolute joke.
