Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
Something stood out to me that doc said the other day regarding Ryan Hollins.
He said that he was deciding between surgery and playing through the pain and that at this point in his career surgery would be a very hard decision. Basically saying that he would lose this opportunity to prove himself with the subtext that he may not get another one.
Pulling for this guy even harder now...

Umude only played one game but four for eight from three. I believe he hit 40% for Detroit last season. That's a guy who can contribute down the road if he continues to develop the intangibles

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
for a team as starved as we are for a dude over 6'6 that can move (outside of Giannis) it's pretty weird to not even give Livingston a shot

let's think that one out:
team is definitely starved for that type of player.
team has shown that they are willing to play young guys.
player that fits that description has gotten zero burn except for garbage time.
is it weird, or is it telling?
I'm not saying Livingston can't contribute in the future or even possibly later in the season, but he played one season in college and averaged 6 points per game on 30% shooting. he came in very raw and is likely, still, very raw. that is the most likely reason that he has not played on the nba team.

Like really weird. So Doc has to be working out the kinks w the younger guys, feeding 'em into the rotation, same as giving the vets enough run to shake out flaws & show what they do well. Livingston gets the burn he needs and called up once the full situation shakes out mid-season. If not, really weird.

He needs fluidity ... but if he can really play 4/5, Id say it's between him and Smith that gets the next crack at 4 minutes.

my question for you would be: why are you not considering the fact that he might just not be ready yet as a realistic option? there are a ton of guys floating around the league that are "6'6" and can move" and aren't cracking rotations. Most of those guys were drafted much higher than Livingston as well. And yes i know his agent told teams in the 2nd round not to draft him so he could get to Milwaukee, but you get my point.
If he IS good enough and he IS ready, then yes it's weird that he's not playing. I just think the much more simple explanation is that the team doesn't feel like he's ready to play real minutes right now. It's hard to tell anything from G League videos but one thing that stands out is that he can't really handle the ball (at an nba level). So he'll be restricted to catch and shoot and clean up opportunities. And if they aren't convinced that he can reliably hit 3s, i dont really see a role for him.
Assuming his defense is a strength, which remains to be seen at the top level, he would be Andre but without the speed, handles and playmaking ability. At some point, you have to see what you got, but to me it seems like they are saying it without saying it that it's not time yet.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
The Milwaukee Bucks are looking to add help next to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard and have shown interest in Torrey Craig, per @BrettSiegelNBA
“No team has shown interest in making a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks at this time. MarJon Beauchamp ($2.7 million) and Pat Connaughton ($9.4 million) are the two players the Bucks have made available in trade discussions in order to try and add talent on the wing. Veteran forward Torrey Craig from the Chicago Bulls is a player Milwaukee has shown interest in, sources said.”

One thing that's been encouraging with Livingston: rebounding. He's currently fifth in the G-League with 12.7 rebounds per game. He might not be super tall, but he seems to have that motor. More than 2.5 stocks per game, too. This is the kind of skillset that could, in theory, fit nicely next to Giannis as a small-ball 4. Some whispers of Shawn Marion if you squint real hard.

Hot take but I don't think getting someone who sucks is going to help.

I don't know if it's possible to supplant "Jake Voskuhl trade demand" for me but this is in the same category.

Nah, it's still the Dwight Howard and Dwyane Wade rumors from 2016.
Marc Stein: ESPN sources say Milwaukee made offer for Dwight Howard but talks broke down in part because Howard wouldn’t opt into final year of contract.
Bill Simmons: Keep hearing that the Bucks are making a stealth play for D-Wade. He needs one team to offer him 4 years for big bucks for Miami leverage.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions
idk, it's not a terrible idea. people seem to agree that we need wing defense and he's 6'7" and has been a plus defender who shoots 39% from three on 3 attempts per game the past two seasons. not a good offensive player but could be a useful cog.
