I think Lasry gets a bit of an unfair rap around here. The leaks that often got blamed on Lasry still occur now even though he's gone. Haslam spends more money for sure but he made a pretty big mistake with his first major decision in going from Bud to Adrian Griffin and now to Doc Rivers. I'm very skeptical that Haslam is a better owner than Lasry even though he's willing to spend more. Money isn't everything when it comes to sports ownership

Haslam picked Griffin and Rivers?

Yes? Ownership has final say on all major decisions. Our ownership group decided to move on from Bud, and throw a bag of money at Doc. The Griff one was widely reported to be a Giannis decision that ownership gave into him on but I absolutely think it's fair to judge ownerships in sports on how good they are at hiring GMs & coaches.

My main point was it isn't exactly like our organization has been running smoothly since Haslam replaced Lasry.

Edens makes the final decisions, Haslam writes checks. I'd be surprised if Haslam had any say in those hires. The firing perhaps he was in the loop for eating the contract. We'll never know for sure of course.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Regardless of who is making the final decisions, Bernman initially said he was very thankful Lasry is no longer here, and my main point here is the team has been run in a very tumultuous manner since Lasry left. The leaks have continued and we've made many questionable decisions. None of that can be blamed on Lasry.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Bernman wrote:It's just a shame Lasry didn't transition out sooner, because he was impeding this franchise from going over the luxury tax to sign players like Donte & PJ. That was the main problem.

Donte may have taken the QO & been gone long ago. Or he signs an offer sheet elsewhere hoping we don't match, similar to the contract he ultimately got w/ the Knicks, we re-up, then try to mend the relationship. It sounds like there isn't bad blood.

Lasry was an albatross to this franchise. Didn't he push us to hire Horst instead of Zanik too cuz he wanted a more malleable GM? Most of the damage is already done. I wish we'd get a real gm now though.

This should be good horst brought us a chip in 21 define me what a real gm is god i love this horst hate its amazing hiw giannis missing the playoffs 2 straight yearz n the bucks failing to advance is on horst. This guy brought us holiday n dame so again define me a real gm definition

Betting on teams that players may or may not sign with is asinine.

“Sweepstakes” is more than generous

Yup, hilarious calling this sweepstakes.

I'll be interested in who gets his G League rights.

Lasry Junior was more of the issue I think. He was posting draft information online and talking to the media a ton. Strangely our draft plans have still gotten out somehow but outside of everyone knowing we wanted Crowder I think we've kept a pretty tight ship for years now. No one really knows anything about us now.

Funny you mention Giannis being so pivotal to our success. Who brought him to Milwaukee? Who brought Middleton?

Jrue was marginally better than Bledsoe. Tanked offensively in the playoffs. Traded 7 1st rd picks for Jrue to Dame. So the claim to fame there is skirting the Ted Stepien Rule to get to a similar place in the future.

He's been bad at drafting. I caveated the one good pick departing as more on Lasry. That's being generous. That got pushback too.

Horst has been good at luring proven players here on minimums in FA. It's been enough to keep us afloat as contenders, most of the time. Let's not pretend the main idea aren't the core acquired before him, he hasn't mortgaged the future to supplement, & there aren't more areas of the job where he's been bad than good.

What major team move has leaked since Lasry left?
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

Horst is easily the most overrated GM this board has seen. Guy wastes egregious amounts of capital consistently.

What does this even mean? Hammonds still has fans and the guy was Brick Tamland.

I think he's actually rated fairly overall by the board for the most part. Everyone understands his strengths and weaknesses pretty clearly.
