Yeah, I think the best move we could make at this point is pull off the Butler trade and let him walk in free agency.

Hey nothing for Jimmy is better than trading the guys we have for other assets? Just to save tax money?

I don’t think we’re getting “assets” for any of those guys. Jimmy is the outlier since he is a distressed asset that realistically most of the league can’t/wouldn’t trade for. The Bucks need to clean the books.

You're not really cleaning anything when you already have 2 max contract players. They'll take up 70% of the cap.

Portland is realizing they should be in tank mode, and that they acquired Deni Avdija a year too early. Let's help them get their picks back, clearing them to tank, while we land the perfect player for our needs.

Clippers in: Portis
Clippers out: 1st, Tucker

Pistons in: Connaughton, Bucks 2nd
Pistons out: Cash Considerations

Blazers in: Tucker, Beauchamp, 2-1sts (Bucks and Clippers) Cash
Blazers out: Deni Avdija, Delano Banton

Bucks out: Portis, Connaughton, Beauchamp, 2031- 1st and 2nd
Bucks in : Deni Avdija, Delano Banton

Bucks get the young, versatile combo forward they've always needed. Avdija can handle, score or create off the drive, rebound, defends multiple positions well, and shoots the 3 well enough. Just turned 24.

RE Portland trade scenarios:

What would the Bucks need in return to swap Khris for Jerami Grant?

Or to do something with Brook and another guy for Ayton?

I’m not sure the Blazers would give up value just for the salary relief but maybe if it were part of a bigger deal…

And conversely the Bucks would need to be incentivized in full to eat those nasty salaries even if we think there’s a chance we could get their careers back on track here.
