Giannis only 227th in NPI RAPM (single year RAPM) with his defense being a big negative and his offense a slight positive. Usually RAPM is the best evaluator of defensive impact.

Last year he was 204th in NPI RAPM with his defense being a slight positive and his offense a negative.

Multiyear RAPM has him 113th. This time neutral defensively and better offensively.

What are your thoughts on this?
Especially that his defense seems to be not adding up to positive impact, while he has DPOY tools!

He along with Middleton and Parker get caught out of position a lot on rotations and help defense. I expect this to resolve itself when everyone becomes more comfortable playing with each other.

Bucks defensive values:

Middleton +1.0
MCW +0.4
Henson +0.0
Giannis -0.8
Monroe -1.2
Parker -1.5

Those values seem pretty accordingly and what one would expect, except for Giannis :/

Don't get this wrong, I love Giannis and even watched his game against turkey, but I am also into impact stats and was wondering.

Or you can choose to ignore a silly stat that has OJ Mayo as your best defender at +1.2

Yeah Stats will hate Giannis because our defense relys on teammates to rely on him, he is a +4 on Defense with competent players

For players who play as much as Giannis it has much to do with the working line-ups and 90% percent of Kidd's line ups were problematic last season either because our injury problems or of the bad fits.

Every line up with Monroe and Jabari as our frontcore had a black hole in its defense.
Every line up with MCW as PG had spacing problems.
Every line up with Bayless running the point and Giannis sitting on the corner couldn't complete a proper play.
On and On..

Kidd tried many things to cover up these problems but mostly failed.
Giannis was almost always part of these lineups and it shows on the stats.

One of the few working lineups was with Giannis as PG and anybody but Monroe(Plums,Henson) as Center.
A lineup that started playing after the ASB and its overall offensive and defensive rating was better than GSW..
Giannis usage in this lineup is huge.

I'm in Australia, I was looking for a link to the first game Vs Turkey and ERT webTV wasn't working for me
then I saw your post here about Hola VPN, tried that and still nothing

But today I installed a paid VPN (torguard) and it works just fine, so I think it was just a case of Hola being cr*p
