No way would i unless Love agreed to an extension

I should've added this caveat. :) But I was focusing more on the value. For me, Love is easily worth the No. 1 pick in a draft. He's that good and obviously proven.

Don't think so; but the inverse would certainly be true.

Kevin Love is the obvious name. The likelihood of it happening is probably pretty small.

He's never staying in Cleveland though :dontknow:

I think Love wants to win. A Irving/Love combo could be pretty potent in the East, with resigned Deng and healthy Varejao (and all their other young role players).

Embiid won't visit another team until the Cavaliers are given a chance to determine if they will select Embiid with the top pick in the NBA draft on June 26.

Meanwhile, Embiid and Duke freshman Jabari Parker are represented by the same agency (Wasserman Group) and the source said the agency is planning visits based on Embiid and Parker going 1-2 in some order over Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins.

Cleveland is still considering all three for the No. 1 pick.

That means Parker would visit with No. 2 Milwaukee at some point, and if Cleveland wanted to pass on Embiid then it would open up a Parker interview with the Cavs for the No. 1 spot.

Correct me if I'm wrong here... so this means that if Embiid agrees to workout for anyone else, that Cleveland is not taking him #1.

Basically. They are going to work out for the Cavs and expect to get a promise that they will take Embiid, then they will bring Jabari to Milwaukee and expect to get a promise, etc. They won't work out for the team with the next pick unless the team with the higher pick says they aren't interested.

While I agree that from a value standpoint it's very fair, if Love was offered for the 2nd overall pick, I think I'd decline, even if (hypothetically) he agreed to an extension. It eliminates the teams ability to build the right way and forces management to go into "overdrive" which often leads to rash decisions and poor contracts. It makes complete sense, however, for Cleveland with Irving already in place.

That's a lot of ifs when the #1 pick in on the line. You might well be right.

I am one of the bigger Kevin Love fans and defenders, but I would never trade the number two pick for the guy. We need to build through the draft and adding Love would kill that as others have pointed out. Maybe when he is a wily old vet and whoever we draft is breaking hearts league-wide :P

100 pages. Do we want to start a new thread? All signs point to Jabari?

Might as well! I think it's time.
