That's where i'm at. Clearly Kohl has a win now mandate, but Hammond isn't good at it.

To me, it's pretty simple: your owner has a win now mandate. Fine. Then stop **** sucking at winning now.

Please do not try and rationalize that you are the only GM in the league that has to try and win now. You' aren't.

Exactly.

These radio hosts are all kissing up to him with the wink/nod that he can't rebuild properly. Just ask him how he came to the decisions to pair up Monta and Jennings when that tiny backcourt didn't work in GS. Or why they thought Tobias was a lesser asset than what he appears to be. Or about 50 other questions as to why the acquired or traded player x.

the funny thing is, if Hammond was allowed to rebuild a few years ago, we'd be on the verge of being a very good team, thus Herb could be going out on a winning note.

Hooray for short sightedness!

I would love for somebody to ask him if he saw this ability in Tobias. If so, why did you trade him for an expiring non-star? If not, what are we supposed to think about that considering this guy was in your house for a year and a half?

it's not hard to get. i don't agree with my boss sometimes, and i'm vocal in disagreeing with him. he listens, and then if he decides he wants it his way, i say yes sir and do it. at the end of the day, he owns the place and signs my paychecks, and i've got it pretty good here.

That's the 9-11 commission investigation that needs to be done. 17/8 20-years olds can't hide out on an NBA team for a year and a half. Either they misjudged horribly or there is something they won't disclose about Tobias they didn't like (personal wise)

Love the reference.

Somebody needs to ask him why Tobias's talent wasn't evident to people who have been in and around the game of basketball their entire careers?

The fact that this question will likely never be answered is exactly why we absolutely suck at our "win now" model.

Why can't Hammond come out and say the owner is not interested in a rebuild and that is why we are doing things this way. Why can't Hammond come out and say we traded Harris for JJ because Kohl said get JJ any cost (if that was the case)? Seriously, if Kohl forces Hammond to do something why can't that be public knowledge? Do people think Hammond has a gag order and can't say that this move was made under orders of Kohl?

And even if Hammond did come out and say Kohl wanted this move to be made then what can Kohl do about it? If Hammond gets fired I assume he still gets paid his contract. I know if my boss made me do things that resulted in me looking bad and then the boss made me take the fall for it I'd call him on it.

Sure, I get the whole Hammond needs the job and who of us would turn that money down. However, if you are any good at your job and were well respected you would get another chance. By being Kohl's yes man it might get Hammond another 3 years in Milwaukee but could end up costing him 20 more years of being a highly paid NBA GM.

I highly doubt there is anything wrong with Tobes personality. He's already stepping into a leadership role in Orlando from what I could tell. It is a mark in his favor if the coaches didn't like him for moronic reasons.

No way you would do that. No way anyone here would do that unless you're phil jackson.

exactly. lets all quit our dream job because we dont agree with the way our ceo wants to do things. i could understand it if crossed ethical lines.... but the idea that hammond should quit his job because his boss wants to go another route would be asinine. even if other owners understood the reasons why hed do it, hed most likely be blackballed for life. because after all, what kind of idiot would do such a thing?

If you've noticed the interviews the past few months, Hammond now sort of mocks his situation publicly, as if he's in on the joke. I think that actually is the worst response.

he has said that over and over!!! you act surprised he hasnt come right out and accused kohl for his meddling. would you publcially question a boss beyond simply stating his goals? would you do it if you liked your job or only if you wanted to quickly get fired for cause?

When Hammond got hired, I remember that Kohl was under pressure for being a meddler. He denied this, and assured Hammond that he would not meddle in his decisions, and Hammond would leave if that started happening.

What a difference a few years makes.
