I look at him as a slightly better version of Ellis. In just about every dept. Including a little bit more size, a little younger and a little more upside.

Granted not the brightest guy from a BBIQ standpoint, but we are the Bucks none the less. We aren't getting a non flawed player. Most certainly not via FA.

Has to go down as our best FA signing. How sad is that?

He's nowhere near the slasher/passer that Ellis is. He's not near as good a signing as Ersan.

Much better than anticipated. However, it's still a bad signing. Why's the vibe so positive?

I think we all prefer this to Kyle Korver at that price. At least he's young and has some upside. Let's see if he can blossom.

Drug Bust should be estatic considering a few years ago he would have traded anyone and everyone on our team for the rights to draft Mayo. That said, trading anyone from our team a few years ago probably would have gotten us tot he same place today.

I don't hate the deal, but Mayo is 15-18 ppg. Nothing more. I'm happy in the sense that we didn't offer him all of Kohl's net worth, but he isn't a very good player.

Could we sign and trade Jennings/Ersan to Boston for Rondo?

I like the shorter contract, 3 years is good. Is this really Hammond's work?

With this contract I predict this board will love this player by xmas - esp with the right PG.

...then new years will come and all bets are off

Because we all expected a lot worse. This is a 3.5/10 on the disaster scale for me. I was expecting a full blown 10/10

It's less than what we usually spend on below average wings. :dontknow:

I don't get it either. Bottom line is the Bucks will be paying $8 million a year to a player who hasn't been good. I'm willing to give it time and see if he can turn into a good one under Drew, but I'm not terribly optimistic.

I don't understand how anyone could like this deal UNLESS you are hoping Mayo returns back to USC ways.

Dunleavy signed for 2 yrs/6 mil and had better or comparable stats in every category even though Dunleavy played 13 minutes less per game than Mayo and was on a team where Ellis/Jennings and even Redick refused to give him the ball at times.

I don't mind that it should help us still tank and the contract is movable at any time.

Hopefully he can grow up a bit. 3/24 is solid and quite surprising.

Ersan was ours, not the same.

And yes, Ellis from a PG perspective was a better passer. But so what? Lets nit pick. Generally similar players none the less and for 8M not 11 plus or whatever.

When I saw the wiretap stating "Mayo Agrees to $24M Deal with Bucks" I was assuming 2 year deal. Pleasantly surprised to see it's a 3 year deal.

This is also $4M less per year than what they were offering Monta, which is a pretty substantial difference.

Yeah, the longer it took the more I braced myself for 4/44-48 mil. I gotta say..... It might actually be a deal with potential upside. This is odd.

Would have preferred Joe Ingles, though they can still sign him.
