If he's going to be a top five pick, the speculation is he declares for the '14 draft.

I don't think Dekker leaves either and ATM, I'm on the Exum bandwagon as well.

We liked Saric a lot before he pulled out (reports), so I imagine he'll be in consideration again next year. It should be a lot of fun watching these freshmen this year, even more fun if someone completely off the radar explodes. Kentucky should be ridiculous.

I think my favorite scenario as of right now would be to leverage our pick and the Ersan asset into Harrison. I like Doug McDermott and CJ Wilcox as late first/2nd round additions.

This is exactly why I think we should deal Ersan for an extra first. On top of the fact that it will make our own pick more valuable, Poythress, Young, McDermott, and Austin are all guys that are projected to go in the later half (15-30).

This is truly shaping up to be one of the more promising drafts in recent memory, and I don't think it's foolish to say that a team could draft a player with legitimate all-star upside in the middle to late 1st.

I understand Exum being a dark horse for top pick but you don't pass up a talent like Wiggins. You take him no matter what and trade what you already have for a position of need.

I'm not that high on Marcus Smart. Hopefully this year he can prove me wrong. Just see a combo guard but not an all-star.

Player I have my eyes on the most is Joel Embiid. He has great size and is a very good post scoring center. I know the league is starting to sway away from traditional centers but Embiid is also very athletic and can shoot the basketball with range. I think he is a more athletic Andrew Bynum or LaMarcus Aldridge.

I don't see Dekker leaving either, barring a FF appearance for Bucky. He and Koenig are supposedly super tight and want to bring the program to the next level. I am really excited to watch Wiscy next year. I think Bo will open things up a bit, if he gives BK the keys.

Exum is settling in as my #2 target for us. I like he and Parker a lot, and rest assured Coach K will do a ton for him, but Exum is a unique player at a position of need. Even if Knight develops and we like him, I'd rather keep him as a long term 6th man or even just a spot shooter starter at 2G if Exum is available.

Exum, Knight, Giannis, Henson, Sanders would have to be the longest starting five in history and have ridiculous defensive potential, with Mayo as the spark scorer off the bench.

I can't wait to see what happens with this as well. Badger fans have been touting for (what seems like) 2 years now that Bo will finally allow an up tempo offense with Koenig on board. I'm not buying it, but it will be interesting to see what happens. I agree that I doubt Dekker goes pro. He'll have a better shot of going early in 2015, plus he seems like the kind of kid that loves college.

Edit: Koenig v. Wilson will be a fun one to watch as well when Marquette visits the Kohl Center.

Part of me thinks that was a huge piece of the recruiting pitch to Bronson (tailoring the offense around him) or at least thats what I'm hoping.

I just find it hard to believe that Bo is going to change his stripes after all these years. He's had some solid PGs since Devin Harris and it's been pretty much the same system every year. He likes slow deliberate offense to minimize poor shot selection and sloppy turnovers.

This draft is starting to get a bit overhyped. 7 sure fire all stars? Then listing among them guys like Aaron Gordon and Marcus smart who don't even have a position and weak skill sets in general.

Also wouldn't considering Dante exum at number 1 unless his shooting takes a massive step forward. He's also in a unique position where he can declare for this draft whether he decides to attend college in December or not.

Really will have to watch this year to find out, know pretty much nothing about 99% of the draft.

That's correct, right now he has his pick of colleges but if he is a high lottery lock I can see him going. If he does opt in he won't change a team's fortunes overnight, but he definitely has the potential to change a team's fortunes in the coming years.

He is playing today for the Australian men's team against New Zealand, not world beating competition but it will give an idea of how he goes up against guys who have a few years of development (gameplay and physically). I doubt he'll start, but should get a fair bit of burn. For those interested Ben Simmons is playing for Australia as well, who is also an intriguing prospect and all things going to plan should find himself a lottery pick in a few drafts.

Dante is a genuinely nice kid, the interesting thing about him is that he is extremely team oriented (and always has been)- I saw an article recently that suggested the best thing about him was that he had "American athleticism" (nice euphemism) but is a foreign player and has been brought up in the disciplined, disciplined team first foreign player kind of world. He's always the guy hustling out there and trying to bring his teammates into the game; he can score at will, but usually doesn't call his own number and genuinely seems to get more joy from seeing the team succeed and maintaining the balance as a PG then will score in bursts when needed (at the u19 worlds he dropped 33 on an excellent Spanish team to get the W). If you can catch the highlights from the Nike Hoop Summit game you should get a good idea of his skills, and the thing there, too, is that he normally runs the point and for the World team they got him to play off the ball, he had less than a week to get into the swing of that role and was still great out there. Think of summer league play, Dante's game is the opposite- he's the anti-Baddy.

If he declares and is on the board when the Bucks pick I'm torn; on the one hand I want you guys to throw us Aussies a bone, on the other hand there's part of me that would think "awww man, not again".

Is Dante Exum a legit PG prospect at 6'5/6'6, or is he a wing with a good handle?

Everything I've read has said he's a more natural point and needs to develop his jumper, but he oozes unselfishness.

Wiggins is my favorite right now, but a lot can change from now til next year. Exum is a close 2nd tho. So intrigued by him. Gonna be special.

Nigel Williams-Goss for late riser pick.

Wouldn't be shocked if he spent more than one year in school, but he has an NBA ready game and mindset. Will have a long career.

He's really good and definitely underrated. He's outplayed every PG he's gone up against and is IMO the best PG in this class outside of Harrison and exum(not sure if he's a PG or ball dominant 2 yet though)

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
