This to me is really annoying and needs to be addressed by the NBA. All teams should have some public record or physical for a player. For one, it lets rookies try to control their destiny, but it also hinders draft day trades, something the NBA should support because they are exciting.

All players should have to go through a NBA physical and submit all medical documents/history to the league. Then the league can disperse all of the information and results of the physical to the teams. If teams still want to conduct their own physicals then they can talk to the player about it. That way every team gets at least enough information to determine what to do with their pick.

I'd be very surprised if Wiggins and Parker didn't go w/ the first 2 picks. I think Embiid would be more of a possibility if he didn't have injury issues.

if embiid is refusing to share medical records and doesn't want to be here then we should either....

1. draft him to immediately move him
2. draft parker

drafting an unhappy embiid is asinine if its culture change were looking for. ive had enough of knowingly bringing in troublemakers.

Passing on a franchise-changing center because it's rumored that he doesn't want to come to little Milwaukee bring back eerie flashbacks of the the 2007 draft, and we all know how that turned out. If Embiids back doesn't check out, fine. Just don't pass on him because you think he doesn't want to play here.

This would be amazing.

Ford spelled Imbiid wrong though.

Exactly. Again, nobody "wants" to play for the Bucks at this moment. Some will be louder about that than others. But it shouldn't affect our draft process.

Is this some inside joke? Joel spells his own name Embiid.

im talking about embiid... the 11/8 guy from Kansas who broke his back from too much moving.

lets avoid labeling him with what wed save for a Duncan or Olajuwon out of college. this guy has a ton of question marks INCLUDING his play. the fact he doesn't even want to be here makes him a complete wtf ever as far as im concerned. theres too much other "talent" in this draft to roll the dice with than this guy.

The Embiid/Medical Records stuff has just been speculation up until this point. With the Lakers sitting down at 7, and the Cavs with the #1 pick, I suspect he won't withhold them. The biggest money differential between draft slots is at the top.

He'll withhold them if they aren't favorable results.

But easily made up in endorsements if you play in LA. Or if you play in Florida with no state tax.

Embiid vs Wiggins will make for a pretty epic debate before the draft. I'm gonna be happy with either, but if Embiid drops to us I think we're going be getting the best guy in the class.

Then the issue becomes who your employer is, and the players will fight this in the next CBA, because it is in their best interest to keep it separate. They can claim privacy issues. Does a player have to agree to have their physical results shared with other teams, once already on another team? I would imagine, yes.

If you look at Cleveland there draft picks have been unusual other than Irving, Think a lot will be determined if they can resign Deng if they can they will draft Embid which is there greatest need. Although Bennett reeked last year he will turn out to be a decent player. Milwaukee got likely the best player in the draft 3 years from now in alphabet.

So think you should have a 40% chance getting Wiggins he can play SG as well as SF don't worry about him not being demonstrative he is every bit a Alpha but his upbringing was to be humble plus he has a impressive gene pool.

Of course he was. That's how some people pronounce it, namely Chad Ford(?) and so he runs with it. He's botched a few other names in the past.

I think you can almost book it. Embiid is the odds on favorite to go #1 and I think they are pretty high odds too. BPA + best fit for their current roster. I'd basically be shocked if he isn't the #1 pick (especially if Cleveland keeps it).

It's just my opinion and clearly I'm far from a professional scout. But I'm still confused as to why Embiid isn't being viewed as by far and away the first overall pick in this draft. He has the body of guys like Robinson and Hakeem, he has good touch around the rim, he runs the floor well, he puts in effort defensively, he can disrupt shots and he continues to progress rapidly on the offensive end.

Obviously he needs to work on things like not allowing guys to get great post position (which should come with gaining strength), he should play a bit more physical, to learn the details of being a great team defender and continuing to develop his offensive game. But he has the physical tools and the ability to be legitimate star center in the league. I think he gets even more valuable in that even if he doesn't turn into a star, he should (in theory) still be very useful on the defensive end of the floor as a defensive anchor.
