Definitely.

Blow a 4th quarter lead on homecourt, with Timelord out & Giannis gassed. Jrue being sloppy as the #2 option. They have a lot to prove, going into TD Garden.

we clearly need all Boston starters to play, if we want to win. They won without Smart, they won without Williams.

With how White, Horford and G Williams have played I don't mind Smart and R Williams being out there more. Especially R Williams as he can't cover Giannis on the switch and allows Lopez to guard someone and the paint. Hopefully he is back game 5.

Unleash Luca

Now seriously, perhaps not the time. Maybe. But with George Hill coming from an injury and playing like... he's coming from an injury, I doubt Luca will do worse than him. And I love GH, but he can't add much now, and he's risking get a worse injury.

With Timelord out, it seemed the obvious strategy would've been to push the size advantage. 15 min for Portis = FAIL.

If you are going to go small again, perhaps work in some shots for those shooters taking up space in the starting line-up? :dontknow:

Very curious to see the adjustments from Bud. He’s done it before, and we’re even in the series now. It’s not just on Bud though, Giannis can cut the **** threes and Jrue should facilitate more. I’d really like more Carter too, and Bobby. Grayson can be a flamethrower so I’d run sets for him early to see how he’s doing. You can always get people open if you run the right plays.

Drop the drop. They are exploiting it. Keep Brook on the big & don't let him switch onto mismatches.

As greekbuck34 alluded in PG, where are the Brook 3pta? He's a floor spacer on top of being a post threat. Maybe stagger Giannis & Brook more, specifically for his post touches.

If you're going to miss treys at least let it come from the hot hands & collectively, off of rhythm shots for anyone with good %s.

If I see another Giannis 3 or Jrue purposefully hunting their best perimeter defenders I’m going crazy. I don’t know what needs to be done or if it’s anything that can be done, but I’ll rather watch Tatum and brown attempt pull up jumper over and over instead of watching Horford and Williams shooting 60% on 10 attempts a game.

I’m tired of limericks. Let’s try a sonnet.

HOW DO I HATE THEE?
(for the execrable Boston Celtics)

How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
I hate thee for your flopping everywhere
Play-acting through a fake transparent daze
Like Paul Pierce riding in a wheelchair.
I hate thee for your dirty sleazy play –
The hip-checks and the elbows that you flail
The undercuts and knee dives you display
Relying on the refs to buy your sale.
I hate thee for corrupting a great game
Reducing it to tactics that disgust
Replacing skill with butchery – no shame
To take such grace and grind it into dust.
But one thing doth my many hates outstrip –
That playing thus you just might win the chip.
"The Bucks in six always. That's for the culture." -- B. Jennings

Bucks are in a tricky spot with Bobby and Grayson.

Jrue/Bud need to do a much better job of getting them more involved in the offense for us to have a shot. Not disputing that.

But Bobby and Grayson both look tentative as hell, they look terrified out there and like they want no part of this series. After 4 games you can really start to draw some things from this series and I think if we could get a consistent 12 to 15 pts on a decent FG% from each of them, it would kind of close the gap of not having Middleton and give us a great shot to win this series.

I don't think 12-15pts from each of them is a huge ask, especially with Khris out. Jrue needs to do a better job getting them involved but they also need to find their balls.

Pat has been ok, he could be better but he doesn't look tentative like Bobby and Grayson do.

And Bud is a moron for playing Hill over Carter.

Yeah I think Bud has to concede his personal preference for Hill and play Jevon. He brings us an edge that we need in this series.

i dont think Carter is a viable option against the Celtics. he's just too short to get a shot off against their closeouts.

I've been a big Jevon fan since he was brought in, but yeah, I don't get the hand-wringing. I'd look to mix him in some lineups but only when Pritchard is out there. He's just too small to switch or get his shot off against Boston's athletic perimeter guys. Maybe he mucks things up on a couple possessions with his ability to press full court, but we're really getting into "throw different **** at the wall out of desperation" mode IMO if we're thinking he can help with what's been our biggest issues this series (play-making and shot creation).

If we're being honest with ourselves, both Carter and Hill should be relegated to the Jeff Teague spot minutes role, but if I had my choice, I'd rather give those spot minutes to Jevon to see if he can muck up the game on the defensive end. I think Hill has been overrated as this "steady pressence" in the lineup this year because of what he's been his entire career and not what he is now. He's just not that good anymore :dontknow: Either way, I think the 20+ min that Hill got last game is just way too many for what he's bringing. Which sucks because Jrue is gonna get burnt out quick if he isn't already.

Carter was a big part of our win in game 1.

Carter's defense and ability to press Boston bringing the ball up has a lot of value, especially with Boston not having a true PG.It was extremely evident in game 1.

With Carter in the game, Boston would have less time to run their sets which would lead to them getting lesser quality shots, and Carter plays that type of defense that wears you down. If you have Carter pressing Smart or Tatum a bunch in the 3rd, Tatum and Smart's legs will be a lot heavier when they are shooting those 3's in the 4th.

And most of all, Hill is pretty much cooked. If it was the 2019 version of George Hill, then yeah, I would say leave Carter on the bench.
