Poor showing to start the New Year. Knew we didn't have it tonight after giving up all the offensive rebounds

As far as regular season games go this is one you just have to get. There is no excuse for them not trying since they clearly showed they wanted it from the beginning. Pacers shot 15% from three. It didn't matter though because we once again got nothing from the bench and couldn't get stops when it mattered.

Pressuring McConnell on the perimeter is a bold strategy, Cotton. Dude was driving at will with no resistance. Floaters du jour for Hali with Dame/Beas guarding him down the stretch and Lopez not able to contest.

Our bench is putrid, but our defense is worse.

Losing a game to the Pacers normally wouldn't be a huge deal, but giving up 122 points and losing to a team who shot 14.3% from 3 is just embarrassing.

Terrible execution down the stretch, probably Dames' worst game in Bucks uniform, and no adjustments on......McConnell? Feel bad for Giannis. Man that was hard to watch.

Yeah no way to slice this one. It’s a bad loss for us and a worse look. I hope Dame was drunk or hungover otherwise we have more problems against the pacers to figure now that they figured out how to unleash McConnell

MickeyDavis wrote:Plenty of reasons for this loss. Bench terrible, so were starters down the stretch. Dame ice cold. Rebounding and defense blew. Yada yada yada. Our last PG thread (a win) was 6 pages. I’m guessing this one will be longer lol.

On to Indy

You always like to make light of losses, when it's the same problems that lead to these losses time and again, and many wins are despite our issues, where raw talent has luckily won out.

Once again, we let in over 60+ points in the paint. We are trending towards the worst team in the league at defending the paint (26th worst in the league - averaging 53.8 - before tonight's abomination). On top of this, we gave up 24 second-chance points to just 14 for ourselves. All because we are impotent in the paint. Our defensive scheme on the boards is as bad as it gets, and it's trending towards league-worst numbers.

These defensive issues cannot be laughed off as one of those things. (Offense i'm not too concerned about other than our bench issues)

Dame and Beasley are so bad at defense. Lakers got it right last year.. Beasley should never be in the rotation of a team with championship aspirations, let alone starting. The fact that we are pairing him with Dame is bat **** crazy. Such a bad duo defensively. Beasley is the opposite of what we need our starting sg to be.
still learning the game

I want a supercut of all the times this season one of our guards has stood perfectly still, like the batteries in the controller died, while the person they were on coasts to the rim untouched.

Dame couldn’t create for himself to try to make 2 pointers. He couldn’t or wouldn’t create for others; he is supposed to be a pg. He rarely tried to drive and score or draw fouls. He was successful only in chucking 3 point attempts throughout the game. And our defense of course was bad as usual with no hopes of improvement. Towards the end Dame was waiting for getting the ball from Giannis who didn’t trust him and looked for Khris.

TJ McConnell would be a hall of famer if he played in the 50s...or if he got to play against the Bucks every game.

I really haven't seen much fight in Dame, that's concerning to me. Total opposite of Giannis. Sure Giannis has bad games, but I never see a lack of heart in those games. Does Dame have the heart of a Champion? I don't think he does, It's more than just this game, something is off with his will, I've been seeing this for awhile, so I'm calling him out.

There will be a lot of games when you just simply can't have Brook on the floor to finish the game. McConnel was excellent getting downhill all game and Carlisle was smart to finish with both him and Haliburton. Outcoached.

Also we absolutely have to play Ajax and Marjon against these guys. They are the only guys on our bench that can hang athletically

I don't really fully understand what happened with Pat. Even when the shooting came and went in the past I always thought he could hang out there for the most part. Now he plays like he's a guy who's 5 years older than he actually is.
