Re: PG Memphis: Still Old, Slow, Disinterested, Pathetic
People can pile on Doc, but I can't think of any major changes I would have made on offense. Here's the problem:
The Memphis coach knows how to play Giannis. Giannis was doubled and tripled in the paint all game long. They dared anyone else to beat them.
The Bucks were ok from three, but NO ONE ELSE CAN ATTACK THE PAINT. When you start PC and Beasley as guards, you are conceding the paint. Who else on the Bucks team tonight is capable of going to the basket?
On defense, the starting five has to be the slowest in the league, Not Doc's fault.

Sadly, Giannis will go down as yet another Wisconsin sports great who should've won more than 1 title.

Disagree. Giannis is gonna wanna play even if he has one leg in a cast. It's on the coaches to make that decision.

Don't even blame them. It's a relevant topic.

Nah. Giannis is the most powerful person in the entire organization. He does what he wants, including shooting dumbass threes.

Ya, I don't.
I just don't get the comments about the coaching. If you're going to lay the blame on Doc, then tell me what he should have done differently. At least when I criticized Bud, I tried to be as specific as I could.
Was it Docs fault that except for Giannis there was not one player on the starting five who can attack the basket?
Is it his fault that the Bucks have one of the slowest teams in the league?

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Team seems better when Giannis sits vs when Dame sits.

Maybe he shouldn't pick coaches or pick his teamates or shoot 3s or provide his brother a job.VooDoo7 wrote:Sadly, Giannis will go down as yet another Wisconsin sports great who should've won more than 1 title.

Think it was GoS who was saying post firing Bud was our Pop and we should've just let him be who he was warts and all. Personnel was as much to blame for our failings and Horst doubled down on that not being the case (Holiday aside of course). 11 months later we are a in a worse off spot. I'm not sure how we turn it around under Horst.

Hindsight and all but they should have sold high on a lot of these guys a few years ago. Jae Crowder still might be the worst trade.

Re: PG Memphis: Still Old, Slow, Disinterested, Pathetic
This board is unreadable at the moment so I'll have to call it a night.
Here's a hint: If you're going to blame any of this on Giannis (I do blame him for dumb three point shots), then tell me what he should have done differently when he was doubled and triple teamed every time he was in the paint.
And what should Doc have done differently? Neither Doc nor Giannis are above criticism, but the comments on here are just total overreactions with no meat on the bone.
I'll check back tomorrow to see if there are any insights worth commenting on.
