Nobody should have been under any delusion that upgrading the 2024-25 rotation was gonna happen via the draft. It was always gonna be about this organization's appetite for a Brook/Bobby/Pat trade. I'll remain adamant in the idea that Bobby is the most logical and expendable asset, and has been since the second the Dame trade went down. He's due a massive raise this next offseason going into his age-30 season. Need to cash him out for a wing/guard.

Does this work?

Trade 1:
Gsw: Troy Brown
Det: CP3, three 2nds

Trade 2:
Mke: Moody, ‘25 1st
Gsw: PG, Bobby
Lac: Kuminga, TJD, Wiggins, GP2, ‘27 1st, swaps in ‘26 ‘28 and ‘29

Is it running it back without Beasley or Pat Bev?

I wouldn't move Bobby for Moody and a pick we are going to mess up haha.

I have been told with people with Inside info that the Bucks worked out KPJ and plan on signing him once that is available. So he will be taking Beasley's role and we can always resign Bev.

Whoa. This dude is coming in strong on the first post. Is KPJ even eligible to play?

That is an absolutely insane claim and one that goes totally against everything Jon Horst looks for. KPJ is a low character, me-first chucker - just cannot believe that the org has been able to work him out in secret and is ready to take the PR hit on such a gamble.

But props if your dude is right.

He’s absurdly talented, but my god does he burn bridges everywhere he goes, and that’s before even talking about the domestic violence.

I do not personally know this person. But he hasn't been wrong on things he has told a few of us on twitter. But he has been strongly against signing KPJ and he felt the Bucks were strongly against signing him at the time. Then he popped up saying the Bucks worked out a previously problemed player and intend on signing him once that becomes an option.

You can take it with a grain of salt but he has had info in the past that he has been right about. I do not know who he is or what he does with the Bucks.

So if this is true and it happens I will be leaning on him for more info haha.

I see KPJ has been playing professionally in Greece and appears to have been over there when the Bucks did their trip. :reporter:

Here's another way to look at it: the main thing the Bucks have to offer FAs is opportunity. Drafting older players might occlude that, even if they're not as good as the guys you might be able to add if the opportunity was less ambiguous. That has to be a part of the calculation.

I also still think we're going to break Brook up into 2-3 players.

This is what I immediately thought about as well. Didn’t some of the Greek posters say KPJ was hated by his teammates there, too?

Hiring a coach that didn't know what preparation was did more damage than anything

Maybe he will change his attitude playing with Dame, Mid, Giannis and others vs playing on a Greek team or Houston team that he felt he was the best player on the court for. Some players attitudes change with who they play with. I would welcome the idea of bringing him in to see if he can fit in. He also needs to know he is playing for a contract in the NBA and this is his only chance back.

Yeah that was a huge blow too, luckily we don’t have to worry about that aspect. Shaking up the roster to the magnitude Horst did last year as late into the offseason as he did, didn’t do anyone any favors either tho, Griffin included.

I said a long time ago that KP Jr was the one move the Bucks could make if they chose to run things back. It all comes down to him passing the background work on the domestic issue.

I believe in order to trade CP3 they will need to guarantee his salary. If so, I don't see Detroit eating $26MM for three 2nds but I could be wrong.
