Love Cage, this is an odd choice. But Kevin James played Sean Payton ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bad Monkey ep 1 was solid. Snarky Vince Vaughn solving mysteries seems like a winning formula.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I'm definitely going to give it a shot. I love Vince Vaughn

Nic Cage doesn’t have the size, look, or aura of John Madden. Awful choice.

Also, Im an enormous fan of John Madden, but have no desire to see a movie about him, asking the question “who is this movie being made for?”

The lesson of Gangs of New York is that progress is inevitable no matter how many people you gut and/or bludgeon to prevent it, in case anybody was curious.

I loved Alien Romulus. Was grinning for the last 20 minutes.

Somehow I have managed to never see a movie from the Alien franchise. Which 1 or 2 should I start with?

First two.

I liked Alien 3 but it's steps below the first two. Alien vs Predator was a fun B-movie. AvP2 was awful. Prometheus has its fans but I thought it was a huge letdown with too many plot holes. Covenant I liked.

My personal rankings:

Aliens
Alien

Alien: Romulus
Alien: Covenant

Alien vs Predator
Alien 3

Prometheus

AvP2

AvP2 is the only truly unwatchable movie. I never saw Resurrection.

Ron Swanson wrote:Prometheus was great. Was cool to see the backstory fleshed out more with the Engineers and the origins of the Aliens in general. It felt like a vintage sci-fi movie. Covenant was where everything just went off the rails, and I say that as an unapologetic Ridley Scott stan. Just bad execution and a meandering plot that didn't fit the spirit of the franchise at all. It's the only Alien movie I've seen once and have no desire to watch again. I'm very optimistic about them going back to the roots with Romulus.

Agree , Loved Prometheus

The first one is probably a top 50 movie of all time and a top 5 horror film of all time. It's a must-see.

I haven't read the comics. I thought it was fantastic.

Prometheus was garbage. That is one of the few movies I actually hate. It should not exist.

I just think it's an odd adaptation in 2024 because through the first 90 minutes it doesn't seem to be bringing anything new to the table. It's line for line and frame-for-frame faithful to the comic, but even that was essentially already done with Zack Snyder's live action movie in 2009. I would have thought if someone was going to resurrect the property they would have done an interesting prequel or sequel like Lindelof did for HBO in 2019.

It was more interesting to me but is very much the The Phantom Menace of Alien movies.

I am absolutely tickled both by calling out individual critics for their indefensible reviews of all-time great movies and the fact that the argument behind it is, "the bad reviews are good, actually!"

I am also not sure how Dracula strengthens the case made by THE GODFATHER and APOCALYPSE NOW.

Looks gorgeous at any rate.

I don't even care if it's good. Old curmudgeons like Scorsese and Brian Cox are right. Cinema is in a pretty awful state right now and I'm glad that movies like Megalopolis are even getting released in theaters.
