I'd like to see a steamrolling from the opening tip.

I want to see us shooting more threes just to get through the reg season w less wear and tear. 38 isnt enough. We have the shooters. It should be very easy to generate cheap open looks.

On the wear and tear note, and this has been discussed here a lot. But I'm a big believer in Dame being our primary offense most of the time. Dame off a screen can pull up from anywhere and Giannis can get to the rim through will alone but one of them is little to no wear and tear and one is a lot of accumulative wear and tear.

Surely there will be games and stretches of games we need Giannis to will us forward but I strongly believe the next phase of his evolution is learning when to allow Dame and our role players to just knock down open shots. I don't think it's selfishness at all but Giannis seems to have it ingrained in him that he HAS to assert himself offensively and it leads to him charging to the rim at times where it's not necessarily there, he's such a freak that he's still able to get there and score efficiently but damn it takes a toll.

TLDR: Let Dame cook. Especially when he's clearly hot

I agree but we need to have dame pound the ball less and make Giannis accept being DeAndre Jordan for half the game. he would still get 18 points for cuts and lobs alone and he could get the rest of his while dame sits. let Brolo and dame do a two man game and pass to either midds or Giannis depending who is open/has a mismatch

Every time these guys step on the court is additional "wear and tear" and it has very little to do with age. It's **** high-level basketball. The key is to not do dumb **** down the stretch like, oh idk, play Giannis 37-38 MPG in March/April when he's already nursing Achilles soreness...

Exactly. Giannis always will and should have a green light to attack the rim when there's one man between him and the hoop. I'd like to see fewer attempts of him doing that when the defense is set and there's 3 dudes near the paint. I want ball and player movement and leveraging of Giannis off ball gravity and Dame's on ball gravity. We should be creating oodles of open 3s for our role players, Giannis and Dame will always get theirs, more efficiently the better

Last thing I want to do is neuter Giannis's killer mentality, I just want to fine tune hone it in to using it at the right times. It seems to me like he gets these moments in the game where he just needs to get to the rim and assert himself that aren't always in the flow

Thats fine. Against a team like Chicago, let Trent rest and give minutes to some of the younger guys.

Doc's learning on the job how to approach Middleton's availability. Preseason it was "Yeah, just allowing him to ramp up, we expect to get him in some games here in the preseason to get his legs under him, it's all good." Then as the games ticked by "Certainly expect him to get in this game or the last preseason game to make sure he gets some reps." Finally, it was "we're hopeful for the opener but may not be where we need him to be,just making sure he's where he needs to be, trusting the staff to get him there." Now, he knows. Just say "progressing" and we'll see him in January or February where we begin the minutes ramp up from the low teens.

Chicago native and current resident Marc Davis will be making the drive up to officiate. Probably on the Bulls team bus.

I'd like to see another 31 or less minute Giannis game and bring Dame down to low 30s. 3 games in 4 nights, don't risk anything.

Hopefully Dairy shows us something tonight. And mayyybbeee Tyler Smith gets some non-blowout burn.

Kind of a lame home opener matchup honestly. Both in terms of opponent quality & the fact that their fans will infest Fiserv lol. Wish we got like a Pacers or Cavs or Heat matchup or something.

Whatever, just take care of business again.

Yeah Chicago isn’t a great home opener. Should be a rivalry there but it has almost no juice at all.

Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”
