Hat's off defensively tonight on him.

I said it in the IGT and i think so highly of my opinions that i MUST restate it here:

Wemby didnt seem to want the smoke tonight

Looked disinterested

Giannis definitely made a point to go at him on multiple occasions

Ill always love him for that. Not only have i never seen him back down but he almost always goes super aggro against perceived greatness.

This is a semi-predictable team.

Give them an extra reason to be motivated and they'll play well - 1st game, NBA Cup Semis & Finals, Detroit to make the Cup, Houston, Pacers revenge, tonight, even the 4 games against Boston & Cleveland in context of who was available.

Give them a reason to not be motivated and they won't - early in a long season, Brooklyn, Cavs coming off the Cup win, Atlanta after making the Cup, Blazers

It's a combo of them being old and just Dame's personality. He was noticeably more engaged in a national tv game playing Wemby. This bodes better for the playoffs, but it makes the regular season a real slog, & we won't be set up as well.

I also think the solution of this in the interim is to play the young guys more. I'm talking Ajax, Green, & Rollins. Not a coincidence they have our top +/- because they have the legs & care. But Doc's a stubborn man who loves his vets.

Just start Green and GTJ and see what happens. Maybe some semi helpful deal will present itself.

100% agree. The Bucks are fun when they try, and is fairly predictable when they'll try.

it's fun to dunk on Wemby but just as long as we know one of his worst games if the year is a 10/10/3/2 while also altering 4+ other shots. it's too bad he does not have a 1a since I think he would be fun in the playoffs

I thought Dame showed good burst again tonight. Maybe it was the damn plague the last few games.

4th on defense since the 2-8 start. Just get me an athletic, defensive minded backup big man.

Doesn't that suggest what we need is more offense?

Imagine how good it could be without Bobby...Bobby isn't a positive unless he is shooting 60%+

To me it means if we had a legit good backup defensive big instead of Bobby we could be insane on defense.

Thoughts:
1) Wemby towers over Giannis. He must be 7'5"

2) I've seen Wemby several times. He's a great shot blocker. I just don't see that he's the best defender in the NBA. He could never do to Giannis what Giannis did to him on that one on one matchup out on the court. He just doesn't have the strength yet.

3) That one on one matchup in the first half was worth the price of admission. It's to be determined whether Wemby has the competitive drive that Giannis has to be great.

Not to defend Bobby, but it's a playmaking problem. Tons of the shots Bobby takes are post-ups because that what we default to when the clock runs down.

Our needs include are a quick combo forward, which we've needed for years, and then an athletic center, but that's a really small role come playoff time.

He made us miss so many shots, but Middleton completely locked him up in the 2nd half too.

I don't think Doc is on the sidelines calling plays very often during the game, I think Bobby calls his own number and it's usually a detriment unless he is scorching. Yes mobile defensive big is what I keep preaching. I would give up the 2031 pick for Duren

Bobby had a bad shooting game and a great rebounding game. Haters gonna hate. And yes, BP's post ups are usually called from the bench. If Doc didn't want him to post up, he would tell them.

In today's game, like many others, BP was doubled in the post up. He actually missed a ton of easy shots tonight. I think Wemby got in his head.

Then you should watch Doc more, he constantly calls sets when they get the ball up quick enough. When they're slow to get the offense started, that's when they dump it to Bobby.

I wouldn't mind having Duren, but what a waste of assets to have Duren and Brook both sit while we run out best lineup, Giannis at center.

Giannis has no interest in playing center full-time. Dame/GA aren't there listening to Doc on the sidelines for the play most of the time
