Maybe Rollins and Green are the guys that will slide their feet and play with some juice somewhat consistently.

Giannis essentially needs to call his own team out everyday or they'll go back into coast mode.

I know I’m a massive Dairy Stan but I really love him. He was struggling with his shot at one stage and could have gone to water and shrunk away in the game but he kept playing hard, taking his shots and doing his job with a level of confidence we need. He’s become a really vital part of the team.

This game reinforces for me though that our biggest issue is effort/how hard we play night to night. We might be a fringe contender but the talent is there for this team to win a title. We just take too many nights off and don’t have that consistency the rock solid contenders have.

If we’re healthy come playoff time, we’re a Dame hot streak away from making a serious push.

Honestly effort has been an issue since we won the title. Half the team is gone, but for whatever reason we struggle to bring it every night. Then you see teams like the Cavs who bring it every. Single. Night. We could be 3rd or 4th in the East if we brought it nightly.

Good to have an stress-free game after all the blow it up ****.
The Bucks should score 47 points in the 1st quarter more often. :wordyo:

This whole Giannis midrange game thing should be a real discussion in the league. For years it’s been “well, if he ever develops a 3pt shot”… This could be the key to more MVPs and unlocking injury-free Giannis as he ages.

There were some nice pick and rolls and interior passing this game.

Dame's defense without having to go through a pick looks good because he's right there in front of them but maybe he's too far back for being short because they still hit 3's over him (or are guys just shooting hot because we're the Bucks)

Khris sitting in this game didn't make us look worse.. we kind of look the same except quicker and we shoot more 3s maybe.

This fascinates me... every game that I see Giannis pull up a middy I'm thinking... yeah, if I was the D I'd be happy letting them have that.. feels like a W for the defense

The post footwork from Giannis moving towards the hoop though.. that's a different story and that should have the league on notice more than him shooting some long 2s.

Giannis has improved a few of the things we all hoped he would.

1) Footwork/moves near the basket are better
2) Hook shots look better still there is space for improvement
3) Midrange, this jumps out since he takes and makes a few of those. Mid shot is the less efficient shot in basketball and even if he shoots an elite 48% it is equivalent to just 32% from 3. At the same time it gives him an option when there is no drive to the basket, he does not waste too much effort and gives us hope there is an improvement in fT shooting and maybe 3p shooting down the line

Good point there.. I'd rather it be from 6 - 8 ft step back then, so after he makes 1 or 2 early in a game the D wants to jump at it and he can do his step through and still have a chance to dunk.. anything at 12 - 16 ft is a huge W for the Defense... I'll give him that all day with a hand in his face... like go ahead bro.

A consistent midrange game will also prolong his career, and perhaps save his knees and ankles during the season so that he can be there for the playoffs.

I'd like to see Dame shoot more 3s... he's at 37.5% now for 3pnt percentage and history shows that the more attempts he takes per game, the higher his percentage goes. There should be some bread and butter plays installed where Dame gives it up to a teammate and a 3rd teammate gives him an off ball pick for a 3 pointer. I don't feel like we have off ball plays to get Dame open yet.. this offense can explode... we have the ingredients here -- let's add the gun powder.

I agree.. just closer in though. If TJ McConnell can get a 6-8 ft turnaround off consistently, then so should Giannis. He doesn't seem to like that Tim Duncan backboard angle yet, but I would prefer him over there than right in the middle (less feet to step on). But if he can get it off with a wrist flick and not really jump then the middle is fine. It's just about him learning to use his body to create the space.
