So is there a world where in New Orleans tanks next season, thereby making it possible for us to also tank?

San Antonio winning the draft lottery would be best for a potential Giannis trade.

#1 pick Flagg, Vassell, Castle, Sochan, and picks would be the best return from any team imo.

Fresh reminder that we gave Horst a contract extension a few days ago.

A medical retirement allows him to get all his money and we get cap relief. We need GAD to go over all those details again.

Well that would be cool as hell.

Looked it up. If Dame doesn’t play for another year, Bucks can apply for medical retirement one year and one day from today (date of injury). NBA then has a doctor examine/review the file. If they concur, the last year of Dame’s deal is wiped off our cap. Dame still receives all his money.

If Dame doesn’t want to retire, we can apply for a disabled player exception if the league believes Dame is not able to play before June 15, 2026. But there we only get the full MLE to sign one player for no more than one year. Or we can absorb a guy with one year left up to the MLE. We can apply for this after July 1st. But we do pay luxury tax on the money spent on the new acquisition.

With all due respect. All the moves we’ve made were to show Giannis we’re throwing in all our chips to try and win another championship.

Bud goes. He didn’t do crap in Phoenix. Griffin was ok but turmoil. So hire a big name in rivers. Trash but trying .

Trade for lilliard who’s a huge name. Dame time blah blah

It’s almost as if we spent more time putting names around our superstar instead of building around him properly through the draft and proper role players that fit him. That’s the biggest mistake.

They have the Hawks pick too this year. But doubt either hit the lottery. Low chances on both. 6.7 percent chance combined with both picks. They likely will get the 8th and 14th picks.

Waive and stretch Dame. Trims $42 million next year, go shopping. The future years hit is inconsequential with the impending cap explosion.

Ty Jerome and NAW are the 1st 2 that come to mind. Both free agents. NAW is a terrific defender, Jerome the high IQ clutch shooter with primary ball handler skills.

If he won’t retire, worth exploring this. His salary would count only $22.5 million next year, versus the $54.1 he’s owed. So we reduce our payroll by $31.6. We’d be at about $132 million in salary and have about $20 million of cap room to work with.

But we’d have to use some of that to retain Porter and other cap holds. So we really don’t end up with much cash to work with. We’d need Bobby to opt out and move on, to pick up his $13 million additional. Then we’d be at about $35mm of cap space. Who do you target?

Now for the owners, it would be huge financially. They’d get out of the tax in exchange for carrying Dame’s contract for five years at $22.5 million.

We still have Giannis, but they are literally in a position where they can’t make any mistakes this off season and they need a bit of luck! Id be prioritizing bringing back KPJ, AJ green & Sims and looking to sign and trade Brook and Bobby to find guys that fit better with Giannis long athletic guys that can defend and get out and run. 8-10 month surgery and recovery should have Dame back right before the deadline. If he’s back and shows well enough to trade I’m taking the best offer available to move off that salary

Zero chance the owners kick over 100m down the road for a guy who isn’t even on the team lol.

You’re only kicking $67.5 million down the road for three years. The Bucks will pay approximately $75 million in luxury tax this year alone. It all depends on where they see themselves as a taxpayer the next two years.

Without the ability to trade Dame for parts, I'm just not seeing the avenue to fielding a contending team around Giannis next year. I won't be mad if we keep him, as at least we might see him win another MVP in a Bucks jersey.

We’ll see then. I’d give it less than 5% chance of even being considered, but I know who’s running this team
