9.5 fga per game last year. 11.1 this year (9 in October, 10.3 November, 9.9 December, 12 January, 14 February).
props
the chucking offense and the selfless ball movement offense don't seem to make a drastic difference in bogut's shot attempts over the course of the year.
of course when there were injuries they went up but that's not surprising

I think this account makes a lot of sense. Mo and Redd loved the Stotts offense, and it did work, the problem was that team would only become a middle of the road team in a crappy eastern conference. To win you need defense and post play, and that has been hwat LK has tried to institute---very unsuccessfully.
The description of Mo saying Bogut was going for big money also makes a lot of sense, as I bet he's projecting some of his greed from last year onto him. Mo and Redd are very selfish players who have been pampered for way too long by this organization, that's just how they think.
Man I hope we make a change, but it sure doesn't sound liek we're going to. Bogut's development is lagging by our commitment to the chuckers, and I can see him getting pissed enough to try to get the hell out of here.

I still think it would work if Krystkowiak would have started - Bell/Redd/Simmons/Yi/Bogut - at the beginning of the season. Set plays for Redd, Yi, and Bogut and Bell and Simmons score as role players.
This pushes Yi to the forefront of rookie of the year voting, and makes the team look better for selecting Bogut #1. They would both get aroung 12-16 shots a game.
Mo Williams then comes off the bench as the leader of the 'bomb squad' with runs and guns ala Stotts.
The problem, is I think Krystkowiak assumes less possessions + defensive intensity = wins. That's what the Pistons and Spurs do, right? Well, actually what they do is run a completely precise offense with every member knowing their roles. So, they can do more with less possessions and energy they save on offense, is used on the defensive side.
Where Krystkowiak failed with his slow it down/grind it our philosophy, was his inability to be above payroll politics, or any politics for that matter. And, the fact that he put defense first in training camp. Got to build the offense first...
Trying to do this with a starting backcourt of Williams and Redd, was never going to work. Especially if the offense wasn't precisely set up.

Nice post. I disagree about this

how exactly is mo more greedy than anyone else? dez and voskuhl went where the most money was (dez even coming back to lh), all mo did was take the highest offer like redd did, and almost every nba player would.
and just because bogut doesn't like showing it off, doesn't mean he isn't thinking about it

LMAO at the idea that Mo would accuse someone else of being all about the money, most particularly the guy who has publicly expressed disdain at the NBA players who are all about the money.
So what kind of deal do you believe Bogut should get based upon his play in his first three seasons?

I know you don't like Charlie Bell as a starter, and I'm cool with that.
I just think he is better as a role playing point guard for this team. He has the defense, the winning experience, the ability to make post entry and fastbreak passes...
Not as good of a shooter or scorer as Mo, but a headier presence...
If it's something else you disagree with, let me know.

Dags wrote:No, you're right jerrod, Bogut could wel be looking for his payday. It's just extremely hypocritical of Mo to deride anyone for being selfish when it's a contract year. Especially someone that can bring as much as Bogut does when given the opportunity (and confidence).
i don't agree with that either how was mo so selfish last year?
clearly the guy most shooting for a bigger contract last year was bell
and it was pretty obvious

I missed the obvious push for a contract last year as well. Mo was playing PG on a team that was trying to lose games. He was probally just playing to play. I missed all the selifishness that some say was obivous.
I'd also agree with fam that this meeting is far more logical than Europa's account (though nowhere near as dramatic). Who knows who's right, personally I want to hear BucksSkins take on it.

As good as I believe Yi can be, the fact the Bucks missed out on Conley will hurt this team for some time....true QB's and leaders are just not easy to find and IMO Conley has all those qualities and they will pay off in spades next year for Memphis. On that note, I believe Collison from UCLA has many of those same qualities, but he is a Cali boy through and through and I am not sure he would enjoy the midwest.

I'd say that Chris Kaman would be a pretty good comparable in terms of production during the first three years. Kaman's extension was 5 yrs, $52M.

Conley was drafted at 4.

What does it do for YI?
He gets the ball less and gets to set screens more.
