Okay, you guys convinced me. I'll get it. We'll all have to play online. I probably won't get a chance to get it until Monday, though. I'll let you guys know.

Map pack 3 is out today for COD:W@W. Once you turn all 3 power things on all guns can be upgraded. I upgraded the basic pistol you start out with for $5000. It turned into grenade launcher. lol

I've heard a lot about Fat Princess so I decided to check it out last night. Not bad, but I still can't capture the princess in single player, but I guess I'm just running around picking up cake.

I can do it on a couple maps pretty easily once the catapult is built. Built that, upgrade your warriors, sit in the catapult, call for help (up on the directional pad), wait for a couple of your dudes to join you and launch yourselves into the opposing castle. From there it's gravy. I drop the fat ass over the side and into the river to take that route home.

They have patch out for FP. It's not perfect but I can play online whenever I want now. I don't have a headset yet but it's still awesome.

I'll probably end up getting it later today, DB. I'll let you know.

Anyone getting Madden (PS3)? I'm going to rent it first, because I've had some serious issues with Madden in the past, but if the demo is an indication I might be swayed to buy it this year. If so, we should most definitely get a RealGM online franchise going.

I will be renting as well, as long as Gamefly cooperates. I haven't played Madden in years (I guess it's been a boycott since they monopolized the NFL on home consoles) but I will try this one out.

DB, did you notice we were in a FP game together this weekend? I'm glad we can get online now.

Ha, really? Nice. I stayed up way too late playing it last night and I'm paying for it this morning. I did well, though. Grim reaper in two of the three games I played.

IGN liked Madden. I'm not sure if I'll rent or buy. I think the idea of online leagues is intriguing. It'd be cool to get a RealGM Bucks board thing going.

Wow, didn't even pay attention to that stuff. I played again and once I built the catapult, capturing the princess was child's play on the default map.

Ever play the soccer mode yet?

Played a full game of Madden today at Best Buy. Falcons @ Packers. It was a good time. Most fun I've personally had playing Madden in quite some time. The commentary is downright terrible, but the rest was fun IMO. I don't know what settings, etc I was playing on, but I'd bet a RGM league would be fun. A new spin on fantasy football.

Madden Review from OpSports: http://www.operationsports.com/review.php?id=495

After that I wanted to try playing against the Patriots with the Raiders, because I wanted to see if Tom Brady would test Nnamdi Asomugha. Well, by the time the first half was over, Brady had not attempted a single pass to Asomugha's side of the field. But in the third quarter, it happened: Brady to Moss on a fade route -- Asomugha batted the ball away as Moss tried to bring the ball in.

The very next play Brady thought he saw an opening on a deep-post route -- 65 yards later Asomugha had scored a touchdown, and Brady would not look his way again for the rest of the game. You see, Asomugha has a 99 rating in man coverage, so you just don't toy with him. This proves the point that ratings matter, especially the stamina/fatigue ratings. Players fatigue at a realistic rate, and if you're not satisfied, there is also a slider for it.

They also note that the new "slow" speed is the best in the game, and after playing a game at BB I concur. It's one of the reasons I'm excited for the game. Been a long time since I've looked forward to a Madden game. I put in an order from Amazon today. We should get an Online Franchise going 8)

I still despise that they did that, whether I like this year's Madden or not. Competition is good for the consumer.

"Speaking of EA and Madden...."

Man these stories just kill me every time. I always get excited thinking something will happen, but it never turns out. I can't help playing Madden games without thinking how the NFL 2K series would of blown it out of the water. My finest day in video game history was in 2004 picking up NFL 2K5 for 20 bucks in JULY no less. Whats funny is a lot of the new features in this years madden were in 2K5 (Gang tackling, Refs on field, First down guys, Player Interviews, Weekly Wrap ups, Play calling system, Game speed, Online Leagues/Seasons, Online Co-op..etc.) .... 4 YEARS AGO. To say that Madden was/is behind the curve is a massive understatement. Just look at the O and D line moves- Maddens not even fun to play in that regard (2 moves, Gee, thanks EA).

That NFL/EA deal killed it for us gamers when now we get exited about features that were on a later a generation console in which that game had more to do (Modes / PRESENTATION / Online websites on ESPN for leagues / And IMO more fun to play.) By the way Madden sucks at presentation in regards to the ESPN deal they signed too. I mean come on Berman, Suze Colbert and the Announcers were great in 2K5 and no game has come close to beating it. 2k used the ESPN license to the max and it feels like EA bought it in order to stop anyone else from using it and then they hardly use it themselves.

I hope this case actually goes somewhere and the NFL/NFLPA/EA at least is forced to allow some competition. But I know it probably won't, Shelling out $60 for a game in the next gen era hurts when I can never stop thinking about what could have been.

For those of you who post here and not on the Packers board, I thought I'd let you know that I set up a thread over there regarding Madden 10. Hopefully we can get some good games going.

I totally agree. NFL 2K5 was the best football game I have ever played, and that was 5 years ago. That game rivals any Madden game in the past couple years. If 2K had been allowed to continue making NFL games, they would be dominating the football videogame market.

You console players miss out on the best games by far. This is the game to get right now, IMHO.
