What a **** waste of money. Good to have GAD back to counteract Jim's usual rubbish.

We used the cap space we got from trading Stephen Jackson with Bogut and used the asset we got back for Tobes.

In some bizzaro world some Bucks beat writer will spin that as asset maximization.

Larry Drew will unleash Caron Butler.

John Henson, Larry Sanders and Brandon Knight will get you guys higher than the 8th spot.

I REALLY like you guys prospects for this season.

We used $30 mil on Delfino, Neal, Butler, Zaza, Ridnour, and Mayo. I can't recall a less effective use of $30 mil of cap space in the history of the NBA. And I have paid VERY close attention to how teams use cap space since 1994...

While I agree with you. I am unbelievably happy with the outcome. This is what I thought our offseason would look like

Remember a few years back the Thunder secured 3 first round picks for buying, and then reselling Kurt Thomas? Remember how a couple years later they made the Finals?

This is not that moment.

I don't think we are tanking in any variety. Just like the youth movement and don't like aging overpaid vets.

One thing though. I don't trade Udoh straight up for Butler.

Why is it everyone wants to just give the guy away? He's decent and can defend.

The more I think about it the more I am meh about the trade. From a cap perspective I am not losing my mind over it. I hate this trade much less than I hate the signing of Delfino or Zaza for example. I think Neal is an ok signing as we do need a SG and he's an ok fit there. Overall I agree with GAD in the wasting money discussion.

I'd rather have the cap space and play our youth, but as everyone knows we are still trying to win now.....we are just not very good at winning now.....or winning later........or winning ever....but who's counting?

I would have loved to get Butler 8 years ago.

There is no way in hell the Bucks finish lower than 11th in the East, no way.

That is, at best, an 8th pick in the Draft.

Horrendous move. Doesn't impact wins significantly at all, worsens our 13-14 flexibility, and lowers Gianni's minutes. This front office sucks.

Doesn't make much sense if they are high on Middleton, unless Delfino is going to miss significant time. And if that is the case, then signing Delfino makes no sense. At least the only thing of note they are giving up is a 2nd, which they have a plethora of. But overall the trade doesn't do much for me.

This trade does nothing for me. Either Butler ends up being our best SF, or Middleton surprises us all and deserves more minutes. We gave up nothing.

Also, after this move, there is really zero way to justify not landing Bledsoe unless you are a massive Bucks homer.

We didn't land Bledsoe because we didn't have what it took to get him. This trade actually supports that argument that we turned our noses at Bledsoe because we didn't want to take on Butler.

Huh?

That first sentence is just simply false. The second one doesn't make any sense at all.

I fixed the second part as for the first part....

The Clippers were after Jared Dudley. They weren't giving up anything significant for the free agent JJ Redick. They could've and still made the trade of Bledsoe & Butler for Dudley with or without acquiring Redick from us. We had little leverage at all since JJ would've just signed with Minny or signed with the Clippers for less many if we didn't do the sign and trade.
