Yes, it is targeted at adults, and it's absolutely fantastic. You're doing yourself a disservice by not giving it a chance. Behind Game of Thrones, it was the best TV show of 2016.

The acting is great, the story is great, and the music is fantastic. In short.. WATCH IT.

Yeah my girlfriend made me watch the first season, and I really was not looking forward to it. I was hooked after like two episodes lol.

I haven't seen it yet but it seems more in the vein of Stephen King stories like "Stand By Me" or "IT"

Its for adults. Targeted toward the ET generation. Tons of 80s nostalgia.

Yup, perfect summarization. It was like when the movie Aladin came out, it works for kids, but there is TONS there for adults.

There was another movie that came out, maybe like 5 years ago, Super 8 (Abrams & Spielberg), very similar feel.

Looking for binge watching advice. In the last year or so I bought two small two cabin resorts/rental properties in Northern Wisconsin, been spending my summers maintaining, updating, a unit at one or the other is typically open. I have dish network with wifi at both properties for the guests, but I keep the ability to stream HD video off, data up there is pricey our cap would go quick. So I'm looking for stuff I can buy on DVD. I plowed through this

The Shield
The Wire
True Blood
SOA
Breaking Bad
Dexter
Califorication
Sopranos
6 feet under
GOT

I just grabbed the Spartacus series. I like the idea of complete series that I may have missed over the years but really anything with a couple of seasons under its belt I can grab on DVD or Bluray

I tried Taboo and seems like it could be good. Tom Hardy is a great actor. My issue was getting tired of having to rewind so much because i couldn't understand what any number of characters was saying.

I love Tom Hardy but he pours it on thick with his accent at times.

I know The Wire gets kudos from everyone and while I enjoyed it I don't think it was among the best. But definitely worth watching. I didn't like True Blood but the others on your list I really enjoyed. I haven't watched The Shield since it first aired, I think I'm going to rewatch.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Good choice on The Shield. I push that on anyone whenever I can but so few people have seen it, really one of the best shows of the TV boom. For DVD purposes 24 would be a good one, it's so many episodes and so many seasons that it will fill up a ton of time. Mad Men would be another not on your list. Oz is another classic HBO that's probably out there on DVD quite a bit. Actually, probably the best binge-watch show not listed there would be Lost, I'd start there.

Your previous picks lean towards classic dramas, but for a comedy Cheers would be a good one, tons of episodes and very rewatchable, of course Seinfeld, Friends, Sunny in Philly also fall in the same logic

Also wanted to point out in case you're not aware that Netflix recently added the ability to download beforehand then watch later without internet. That will open up your options quite a bit.

I agree on The Wire, I thought the first two seasons were great but I felt like it didn't reach the same heights after. The Shield surprised me, when I bought it I was a little worried that as old as it was it wouldn't have held up as well, but I thought it was great all the way through.

Loved 24 could revisit that. Oz is a good idea, another one I forgot existed.

I'm old enough to have watched and did, Friends, Cheers, Seinfeld the first time around But always sunny is definitely a good idea forgot about that being out there.

Good tip on Netflix downloads, where should I start on the netflix originals

His accents are always hilarious. He is just terrible at them.

Anyone watching The Young Pope? It's fantastic and Jude Law is so damn good in the main role.

For ones I've seen I'd probably start with House of Cards, multiple seasons already. Then Orange is the New Black, multiple season already too. Narcos, Master of None, Stranger Things are also really good but not a lot of episodes so far.

Having it available opens up tons of options though even if not NF Originals. I'd probably start with Shameless, not sure how out there that is as a DVD. Whereas I know Lost is out there big on DVD.

Watched ep ! of the Expanse. I'm intrigued, but trying to keep pace with their futuristic dialect loses me at times.

His Bane accent was absolutely ridiculous, but I loved it. I was doing the Bane voice for months after TDKR came out.

Yeah, he has lots of "nuances" (if that is the right word) in Fury Road, and the Drop too. It's like he picks out some kind of eccentric thing out of a hat to add to each character.
