DDV and Pat are about as athletic a guy as you can find in the NBA.

I agree. They bring some real workman-like athleticism to the team.

Yea they generally are in spite of the one big flaw, haha. However, like I said they're fine as wing types. It's different for them to go up against smaller guys with equal or better athleticism, that's where we're missing imo. Also, great leaping ability like they have isn't the same as the left right shiftiness/quickness that I'm getting at. And it's not like I'm saying the team is terrible because of it, but just that a backup PG with legit quickness to attack on PnR and at least hang with other teams lead ball handlers is a weakness right now. Not an easy way to fix the top end Gs on this team as we've discussed in another thread but this backup PG spot shouldn't be too hard to snag someone.

Any quality guard is going to shred us if we continually give up wide open threes/pull up midrangers for quality NBA players. And what happened to Giannis saying he wasn't going to stop shooting threes and he was going to let it fly? He looks scared to shoot threes and it's only 10 games into the season.
Still wish we had a real GM, as I don't see Horst capable of getting this team where it needs to be, specifically finding a way to creatively upgrade the starting backcourt. I guess it's up to Bud. This tweet made me lol:
Horst has the uncanny ability to say absolutely nothing of substance and yet come off as relatively smart and likable. Its almost as if he rehearses his talking points in the mirror so he's ready for the big interview. I picture him practicing in the bedroom of his childhood home, rocket ships in each hand, those corny one-word motivational posters all over the wall, while his mom cooks meatloaf downstairs...
Lets be honest here. Budenholzer, much like Kidd, is probably getting final call on personnel decisions.

I have no data to support this but it seems to me black players usually have bigger wingspans? That's the only thing, otherwise I agree both these guys are fast and bouncy as ****. I love how they both accelerate from the 3pt line and go for offensive rebounds as soon as the ball is in the air, which is huge and it's always gonna be there for them (defenders don't go boxing out the opponent's guards out there). And they do the same on D, and they contest everything. Also, going over screens (DDV in particular), I don't think we have another guy who can do that. Bledsoe can sort of do it but he's also kinda saving himself because he knows he will play the whole game. DDV doesn't care, he goes full blast from the first moment he's out there.

Horst comes off terrible in interviews. But if, IF it was his idea(s) to draft DDV, boot Jabari and sign Ersan and Lopez he had a great offseason.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

As long as he's not the John Hammond of NBA GMs.

Again, they generally are but they're more wings. You do not want them gaurding the Kembas/Dames/Stephs/CJ. I thought DDV did all he could against CJ, effort through the roof, physical, everything he could do but he just can't keep up the same way Bledsoe could've. If we don't find anyone better I don't hate these guys in those type of matchups, they'll hold their own imo but it would be nice to add one more smaller shiftier/quicker person. Moreover, on offense you don't have another guy to breakdown off the PnR other than Bledsoe, DDV/Pat aren't going to do that. Just saying a backup PG with legit quickness would be good.
