The fans in Sydney lost their minds for Brook Lopez and it was beautiful to watch. They chanted his name when he was on the bench, erupted when he caught the ball and even when he switched out onto the perimeter defensively. Lopez, Pop and everyone on the bench was having a blast with it. Every time they showed him on the scoreboard the place went nuts and Brook burst out laughing. No idea what spurred such affection.

Brook didn’t get in until late in the third but looked the most comfortable he’s been so far. Team USA has a much higher ceiling trying to get something out of Lopez instead of trotting Plumlee out there.

Has he looked good at all? I get the sense no, at least from a shooting perspective.

The last I read, he may not be in the starting rotation when things get started.

He’s been atrocious at both ends. Shots not falling is one thing but he’a getting blown by on the wing, dribbling into double teams, getting stripped and throwing some horrible passes. Easily been team USA’s worst player. The exhibition games are over, hopefully he’s gotten it out of his system.

I just want him to be healthy and playing well come October. You'd hate to see a $178mm contract year player.

Really did not think he would look this bad. Hopefully he turns a corner now that the games are real.

But, not really what you want to see out of a guy who just got paid $178M

Was really thinking Pop/Kerr would have a positive effect on him, thought his game was perfect for int'l ball

I just want him to always have Giannis as his safety net.

Ugh. That sucks. Hopefully when the games "matter" he responds.

19 turnovers against Canada last night. That'll get you bounced in the elimination rounds.

What's the best way to watch this? Keen to spend father's Day evening watching Australia and Greece.

It was the official FIBA stream that I posted before. It's on their website, all the way at the bottom of the page
http://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2019
it's not the best but it's cheap and it usually works.
