Celtics are now on quarantine based on who they’ve recently played.
You know that hypothetical, "How much money would it take for you to stay in a haunted house overnight?"

How about two weeks?

Regarding the Celtics being here, it's worth noting Gobert was tested for COVID-19 yesterday and got the results back in a matter of hours.

Hoiberg apparently has influenza a.

So still dumb, but not covid dumb.

Though, I’m not sure that I fully trust the Nebraska press release on this, because they also called influenza a “the common cold”. Obviously, they open themselves up for litigation and censure if their coach is out there spread disease.

Well, the result doesn’t change how dumb it was. Fever/flushing/dizziness - what it looked like he was experiencing - are COVID symptoms.

So the anyone who played the jazz recently probably can't practice for 14 days or so?

No idea how Hoidberg could even make it to the arena and think coaching with influenza was a good idea. I had it for almost two weeks and there was a point I thought I was going to die lol

For sure. Especially in the midst of a global pandemic. But... there is something about that press release... at best, it’s willfully dishonest and misleading. Everyone with half a brain knows inFLUenza causes flu.

Meanwhile, coronavirus causes the common cold (among other viruses). Could be some weird miscommunication, but including that clearly erroneous information is suspect to me.

The real story here is how China was so mad over the Morey tweet that they played the long game and eventually shut down the entire league.

Have to imagine they're going to take a good 1-2 weeks off, get everyone tested, and implement whatever measures they need to (determine level of containment, more hand-sanitizing stations, PSA's between stoppages). It's pretty pathetic how unprepared our government and society is as a whole towards this kind of event, but there's not a chance in hell that a non-Ebola pathogen is gonna stop these billion dollar industries for more than a couple days/weeks.

Someone made a good point that the biggest worry with this is that hospitals and medical facilities will be so overrun with perfectly healthy people who simply "think" they have the virus, so that the people most at-risk won't get the proper care that they need immediately.

This could be potentially devastating for the city of Milwaukee. Sports aside (winning the finals would be HUGE for this city), there's a huge threat this could seriously alter the DNC and other summer events in Milwaukee. If the NBA were to run into July, there's going to be logistical issues with possibly overlap at the fiserv/hotels with the DNC and NBA playoffs. I'm trying to remain positive, but this just sucks all around for the city right now. Really think Milwaukee was going to shine this summer both on and off the NBA floor and was looking forward to showing the country how far we've come the last decade. Hate this.

Well at least the Celtics players probably have a nice running joke with the rest of the NBA that they got quarantined in sh*t-a*s Milwaukee.

Cuban was just on sports center and said that he’s expecting to re-evaluate after 60 days.

I was thinking 30-45 days, but yeah, 2 weeks never sounded close to right to me.

I’d have to think if the nba isn’t playing during their marquee time that there is no chance the mlb, nhl, cbb would be playing either.

I get your point, but it’s similar to how players play with it or the thousands and thousands of people that have it and still go to work. Not saying it’s right.

As someone who works in health care. Health care IT. I am responsible for all efforts for a major health system in FL. I can confirm that the above point is a very valid concern. The health system that I am tertiary responsible for is currently prepping for this exact situation.

Real talk, this is going to be an overwhelming experience for the globe. It is about to get much worse.

I can say with a high degree of certainty that this will not be over anytime soon. I presume that we reach the precipice in about 4-6 months.

We are not prepared, the situation in Vegas is remarkable as well. We are also in short supply of personal protection equipment, medications, and medical equipment. Case in point, three weeks ago all of the mechanical ventilators in the valley were in use. This includes DME companies that rent equipment to healthcare centers when they have utilized all of in-house machines. Note that this before the epidemic, it has been quite a season for respiratory insufficiency.

The forboding lack of necessary ICU beds needed to tackle this pandemic will create many very difficult decisions for traditional medical situations. Tough choices will be made.
I needs shades for this future thing we owning..... 8-) 8-) 8-)
