Sums up this game nicely. So smooth, so good, just at another level than the competition.

That was Jordan-esque

Hollinger is 100% correct on that one. If you want to start strictly enforcing it, fine, but it is complete bull to suddenly start calling it in the playoffs after letting it slide for the entire regular season. And yeah, the obsession over this is extremely weird. JVG mentioned the previous round that some players almost always commit line violations on FTs, which is a much more impactful penalty, and no one bats an eye. One of the top posts on r/nba last night was about how every Hawks player should start taking 12 seconds to shoot their free throws to send some kind of "message."

Ya, the revisionist history on Giannis is baffling. He has been amazing. Take away his 3 point attempts and he is nearly flawless. But remember, just a few games ago there were posters proposing Giannis trades, because they said he was so dumb.

I was at the game tonight. My impressions:

1) Crowd-Sitting directly behind me was Jim Paschke and Dave Babcock, longtime Bucks scout. They were in the first row of the suite and I was in the last row of the lower deck. I tried talking to Babcock and he was very friendly, but it was so loud I couldn't understand a word he said. Great crowd.

2) Lots of people around me flew in from Atlanta. They were counting on Giannis's free throws and Giannis shot them before they reached ten.

3) Bud was roundly booed during introductions. First time I've ever heard that. Knowledgeable crowd.

Bucks have too much talent and experience for this series to go far, so if Bud keeps the pressure up rather than the passive drop scheme, we'll be all right.

If you boo the coach before game 2 of the CONFERENCE FINALS, you're a jackass.

You sure it wasn't "Bude"? Or "Boo-urns"?

Next time Trae makes a free throw, Bud should challenge that he was over the line before the make. Bud would win.

Yeah if they suddenly want to enforce the rules differently, they should start with the sideways jumping into a defender one first.

Even better imo because he actually needed to do it due to the defender. If you rewatch MJs there wasn't really a need for it, he could have just kept going with the initial shot he was going for with no problem.

The NBA needs a FT shot clock that counts down from 10 once the shooter receives the ball. Place it in the lower right-hand corner of the backboard. End of problem.

And the floor should have lights on it that light up if you cross over before the ball is thrown.

We should have won game 1. The Dutch commentator was questioning Buds tactics all game long, said he was still on the hot seat and should be fired if the Bucks don't get to the finals or win it all.

I can see us not being in the game since we wouldn’t have beaten BKN without him, but yea, he isn’t the needle mover vs the Hawks

Agree. He may have a big role in the finals if we get there though. Particularly against the Clippers.

PJ got a goodly number of rebounds last game, which is great because he's a terrible rebounder. He might be in the position to do something well (get a 3, get a rebound), but he's just a mediocre player at this point.

Was he walking with no shoes on? That wouldn't help.

I think it was "tired old man" walk rather than a limp.

Yes please. If you're telling me every point in the playoffs matters and they wants to change their FT routine for every hawk player? Yes and thank you.
