Would I be stupid to sell it for $45k, then take the $30k I'd have left over after paying off the rest of the loan, and putting it on a 2023 Kia Telluride for about $50k? Which would actually reduce my monthly payments (although would add 3 more years of payments on).

Those Tellurides are dope. Do you need a car that large? I assume so since that's where you're looking, but I can't imagine you're really going to save all that much on gas.

If you do need (or want) that and the gas savings make enough sense, I'd absolutely do it.

I have a wife, one kid, 2nd on the way, and two dogs. We use my truck almost always as my wife's car is pretty small. While my truck is very large in the cabin (biggest in class), 2 car seats would mean dogs HAVE to sit on the floor (one does anyways). Not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

CarMax does a gas savings calculator. I get 16MPG in the summer, closer to 14/15 in the winter. Says I'd save about $500/year if I got 4MPG better.

Have you driven a telluride yet? I know it's very highly thought of in general but that doesn't mean you'll like it. That's also still a pretty big vehicle. If mpg is the main driver, you could probably find something smaller that would still fit the family....or you could just get a minivan. :)

I've mostly driven trucks of various sizes over the years. I have tried moving away from them a couple times and always end up coming back. I prefer sitting up higher and having that truck bed if I need it rather than pulling a trailer. That's all personal preference though.

I would say, if you're serious about changing vehicles, don't zero in on a specific replacement before you see what else is out there. Tellurides look nice and are well thought of in general but a $50,000 budget is going to have a lot of other options available to you which may or may not work better for your family.

So my wife has been wanting a Telluride for a few months now. We've driven quite a few and they are really nice. So this would also satisfy her itch. I drive the kids to daycare so I'd take it during the week, but she'd use it on the weekends lugging them around.

We'd likely get a Telluride, Palisade, or potentially a Chevy Traverse (my dad has it and is pushing it). We test drove the VW Atlas, Kia Sorrento, and some other mid-size SUVs and they were just too small.

We bought a 2021 Honda Pilot and my wife and I both love it. I thought the third row on the Highlander was a joke. I have never driven a Telluride though and it's always so highly rated. I didn't want to pay above sticker price for one back then when I got the Pilot for $2k below. I have been in a Telluride at the Chicago auto show though. I think I need to get rid of my Accord with a second kid on the way, which means I probably have to bite the bullet and get an Odyssey because my wife refuses to drive a minivan but I think we need one.

Atlas was too small? Third rows is bigger than a lot of second rows. My wife got a used 2019 prior to the pricing surge. She loves it.

Tellurides do look really nice.

Man that Kenji fried chicken was good. Hot honey set it over the top. Not something I'm gonna make often, but I definitely think breaking it out at a picnic or outdoor get together would be a hit.

Yeah you are going to have a 10% cut in value for changing cars that will wipe away all gas savings. If you love the truck I would keep it. If you want savings, get a $20k used car that's comfortable that will reduce the wear and tear cost/insurance savings. Then rent the $20 truck from Menards the few times a summer you 'need' a bed for projects.

Eta: I read out of order. Seems like you would prefer the Telluride. Thought the driving factor was gas.

Comparatively yes, and the didn't have 2nd row captains seats I think. Maybe they did I'd need to confirm.

After consideration I don't think I'll do it. Selling my truck private party at $45k would be a pain in the ass and it's technically a lemon law truck (although that hasn't deterred dealers from offering me a pretty penny for it). I'll be rocking the truck as I love it. And I really don't want to extend payments another 3 years. Appreciate the help guys.

Probably a smart move to just keep your truck if you're not going to improve mpg by more than 5. Atlas definitely does have options with buckets and like someone else mentioned, the 3rd row is best in class. You can probably get one under msrp too.

If you wouldn't have considered a Sienna hybrid, my recommendation would have been go on a wait list for a Sequoia or a Highlander Hybrid. I cannot recommend a Kia or Hyundai at all if you plan on possibly keeping it past the 5-60 full warranty. They have a terrible track record on engines the past 10+ years. Their dealer network is AWFUL when you do need to use the warranty. Their styling is definitely unique, even though I consider the rear end of the Telluride butt ugly.

Not sure the last time you priced out your truck but that sounds like a lot of money for a lemon law even if it is a high trim. Not many lenders will finance a branded title, and even if they do, prime rate will be around 7-8% in the current market. RAM is back to knocking $10k off msrp and the spring rush in pricing is winding down. We'll be back in a depreciating market very soon like we were from Aug 22-Dec 22.

Anyone here use some non dentist issued mouth guards for teeth grinding? My friend who visited recently called me out and I've noticed it myself but don't want to drop the 250 for a dentist one. Had my checkup yesterday and they didn't mention any issues so I kept my mouth shut but it runs in the family so I should probably get one. There's 20 dollar options out there but not sure if they're legit.

End of they day probably time to change careers since it's stress related but that's obviously easier said than done.

Yep, been there. And am switching jobs to help solve it (and so much more) :P But this is what I used. I'm sure the "real" ones are better, but it works fine.

That was one of the ones I was eyeing up, guess it's not huge deal if I need to go through a few at 20 to find one that's good for me. Anything to help while I figure out how to stop this.

Northern Wisconsin is nuts, got another 8 inches of snow. Just when I thought it was over aaaaa.

Been recovering last couple days since getting 3 wisdom teeth out, hasnt been too bad and they were giving me such pain before that a little soreness and swelling is nothing, had it done under local and nitrous which I was kinda expecting to put me out of it but I didn’t perceive the difference but I felt nothing really besides when they numb it up at the beginning, barely needed the pain pills so far. Definitely glad I had it done by an actual oral surgeon instead of some quack in a office for sure. Hardest thing is eating and being hugely paranoid about dry socket.

I had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled one year over Thanksgiving break when I was in college. That sucked big time.

I had mine out in HS and got a raging infection (not dry sockets) that made my right cheek swell up so large it looked like a softball. Couldn’t open my mouth at all or eat anything, they had to drain it twice. Worst experience ever, do not recommend.

Boston losing game seven in OT with a historically great regular season team is so :chefskiss: That crowd was stunned. I loved it so much.

That was great. NHL record for most wins and bounced in round 1.

Defending champs in a lot of trouble too. Down 2-0 to the Kraken.
