I will repeat again for everyone who just looks at individual stats:

The key to yesterday's win was guarding the 3 point line. I said it three games ago and have repeated it ad nauseum.

Doc zeroed in on it in his presser. He said he called a timeout in the first quarter and said forget if Siakam drives to the basket. Let him score. Just stay with your man at the 3 point line.

It's not just keeping the Pacers at a low 3 point percentage. It's keeping them from putting up such a high volume. In the first quarter, over half their shots were three pointers. The rest of the game was much less.

The Bucks won yesterday because of defense. Kudos especially to Pat Bev, BP and KM on their defense.

Can some of you print this out and put it on the mirror in your bathroom?

I jus read a post that praises BP for his game yesterday and says it makes up for the rest of his play in the series. :banghead:

Really interesting adjustment by Doc to put Beasley on Siakam, and then doubling Siakam in the post with Brook. It didn't work every time, but it's better than having Beas destroyed at the point of attack.

They also moved Beas off the top row when in zone, and that has hid him better too.

On LOB Garcia was surprised to hear frank talk about how the sideline reporter for TNT said Giannis/Dame were close. Then by the end of the podcast Garcia said he got a text from a source that Giannis is close to playing game 6.

Yeah, doc and the staff made a hell of an adjustment. Indy is incredibly reliant on threes, so if you can take away clean looks, their offense will go through some serious droughts.

The thing about the playoffs is average defenders can often look better, because they just play with more energy. You’ll have real needle movers on that end, like Giannis, where they can completely take something away from the other team, but by and large, it’s about defensive scheme, defensive communication as a team, and effort. If those things are on-point, even a team littered with tired, old legs, and mediocre defenders, can go through spurts of great defense.

Pat Bev was the big individual difference maker defensively for us, but we also had a great game plan, and communicated and moved well on the backend for the most part. We played a more aggressive D which I’m sure you loved to see, as did the rest of us.

Also Pat Bev’s “too little” taunt is the most chef’s kiss thing when he’s on your team.

Bobby may have the emotional control/restraint of a toddler, but he wasn't wrong about this Pacers team. Would be legit hilarious if we keep punching these front-running clowns in the mouth and somehow find a way to win this series without our two superstars. For the first time, it actually seems like a possibility.

It had to confuse the Pacers to see a mismatch at every position. There seemed to be just enough random help coming to keep them off balance. Turner, in particular, was pouting when he didn't get the ball in the post against a smaller player.

I'm not a Beas fan, but when he's hot, he can win his match-up which is a trait currently in short supply for the Bucks.

What's the most we can offer Bev?

Possible he takes another minimum but if he keeps this up he might be leaving real money on the table.

Incredible show of pride and heart.

Imagine if Freak Time showed up back in Indy fresh and ready to go, walking in with the DX theme music

Doesn't matter, they can't pay him that much.

There's usually space... we signed Beas AND Payne last yr

No, it's not legal. They can only raise his salary so much, and it's not much. Someone here will know the exact details, but it's nowhere close to 2/12.

I had a hunch Gallo may be effective in this series.

He is somehow getting the job done despite being glacial. Brook needs to take notes.

Good to hear. Seeing Dame shooting is a good sign. Hopefully they both are good to go.

Transition D. Transition D. Transition D.

We didn’t give up three consecutive fast break layups to Obi Toppin off of makes last night. That **** matters.
