giannis spent the offseason daring the front office not to make a move after he fired his coach so what choice did we have.

dame is dame. it was a good move at the time for maintaining the status quo but it wasnt a fix for the cancer the team had before he got here.

the team lost its soul before he got here. dame probably has more to bitch about then we have to bitch about him considering the **** he stepped in to.
This is good perspective.

Those of us who kept making fun of our FedEx delivery driver GM knew all along.

Dame spent an entire off-season doing jack ****/being out of shape for self-preservation to avoid blowing up the pending trade. He gets no sympathy for essentially wasting a season.

yeah.... harden and kyrie the worst case comp for him. it took multiple teams before they lost their value. were so toxic i dont even think teams would hold this version of him as even being real

Yup.

Now the question is, will the ownership pony up for something like that? Give Tim Connelly a call when his deal is up after this season.

This game reminds of a month ago when I said it was big red flag when Giannis said that he and Dame didn't get together one single time all off season.

Like I said at the time, would Giannis and Dame be significantly better on the court together if they had practiced a couple times over the off-season?

Probably not, but it showed a lack of commitment going into this season.

We do this every time Dame shoots poorly. Literally every poor shooting game. And yet even still, Dame led offense is objectively better than Giannis led offense. There is no discussion to be had in that regard. There is an absolutely massive sample size of their careers.

However the issue with this team is defense. We don't play any. One of the worst transition defense teams I've ever seen in the NBA, we just give up easy buckets nonstop because our players have no pride and don't care anymore about regular season games and they haven't for years.

Clippers, lakers, heat, wolves, nuggets, pelicans?

Problem now is we aren’t getting anything for him but screw it. He isn’t worth much anymore anyways. Tiny foul baiting guards extremely fast once they hit 30

pointing the finger at him for not being able to fix a broke ass team that had just canned their coach is more my point. it was a horrendous situation for him to arrive into.

Please watching this game and somehow still think Giannis is the problem....

DEFENSE is the problem, coaching is the problem shooting is the problem, terrible and predictable offense is the problem.

First time all season where I've thought Giannis wasn't the problem and it still didn't matter. Dame will have rough games like this but we need his body language to be better. As soon as something goes wrong his head and shoulders drop. We got back into this game and he still didn't look interested.

NBA tv guys are just trashing Doc and the defense. Incredible.

Think it was Sam Mitchell doing the bulk of it (missed their names lol)
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

I think we should give minutes to Johnson and Livingstone in the 2nd half. J is our hope for the future. Livingstone could be a good trier who is young.

If we keep the lineups unchanged, we are losing anyway.

And yes GA and Dame will never be in synch I believe.

We are 22 down.

Maybe we should get a very good player back in a trade for Dame.

Aside from Dame's streaky shooting, he gives us nothing defensively on a consistent basis and turns the ball over more than I thought someone of his stature would.
