I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Couldn't the Bucks have challenged the call?

Re: PG Pistons - Giannis & Brook!
Right now the Bucks are 16th in defense (Bud's Suns are 17th) and 21st in offense. Too early to draw too many conclusions, but when Dame gets back, the other guard has to be Rollins or Andre Jackson.
The defense can't tolerate having two non-defenders in the backcourt for a lot of time. When/If Middleton gets back, I'd even consider putting Prince at the off-guard. He's not a good rebounder so try him out to see if he can handle it. There's so much switching anyway. I

The foul call is incorrect, but officials trigger a replay review to determine the timing of the foul call. After communicating with the Replay Center, it is determined that the foul call occurred before the expiration of the game clock and the clock is reset to 00:01.0. The foul call could not be changed to a no-call at replay and only the timing of the foul call is a reviewable matter.

Why this couldn't be changed at replay is a mystery to me.
Because they can't change foul calls unless the team calls for a challenge.
They can only review in/out of bounds and clock (and 3 vs 2, I suppose).
They don't want to be reviewing every foul call under 2 minutes to see if they are correct.

But this wasn't a random play under 2 minutes, it was the last play of the game and they were already reviewing it for something else. There's no good reason to me not to be able to correct a mistake in that circumstance.

Gary Trent can play defense at least league average and get some steals. If he's healthy and he's playing like he did last night, that's our starting 2 and it's pretty easy. But it's definitely nice to know that we have other options and i hope we spend the regular season figuring out who can help us the most come playoffs.

Foul calls require a challenge to be reviewed. Them's the rules. Period.

Holland should have never been on the line, but also let's not pretend like this is a game of pure chance. He wasn't close on either of them. He damn near Giannised the first one. The young man choked.
That was gnarly miss on the first one. He seemed to be in disbelief lol. Can't remember the last time I saw someone look that outwardly shook.
Agree it's not pure chance but for the sake of nerd hats:
Holland was 12/13 on the year = 92.3%, which would mean a 100-92.3 chance of missing one free throw = 7.7%.
Odds of missing twice in a row would equal 7.7% * 7.7% or .077 *.077 = .00529 * 100 = .5929% chance.
100 - .5929 = 99.4071 or 99.41% chance of making at least one free throw. Could be wrong, haven't taught math in awhile.
ETA: G-League he shot 16/20, combine that with 12/13 this year and he's 28/33 or 84.8%, odds of making at least one at that rate is 97.7% I believe.
G-League he shot 99/134 from the numbers I'm looking at, bringing him down to ~a 70-75% shooter depending on how confident you are in the sample size.

Well at least I wasn't crazy for thinking the refs couldn't change the foul call since that was the call on the floor.

In almost any other circumstance, we'd be mad at him for not challenging ____ call earlier in the game and having that timeout/challenge burning a hole in his pocket with 1 second left. In fact people have consistently complained about this exact thing basically every time it happens.

Do you really want to have your starting guards to be a below average defender and an average defender, when keeping guards from penetrating has been a problem?

Throw the " Giannis at the screener" BS in the garbage where it belongs.
He's the man
Giannis the screener is a terrible concept. He is the leader. Others need to be able to score without leaning on the crutch of someone like Giannis continually screening for them. Let Giannis play like the mvp that he is. See the excitement and performance of the team. I am tired of seeing a slow half court game of bringing the ball up and then waiting for someone to screen so that a long range shot can be hurled up. It will not work for this team.
Setting a screen isn't a self-less play. It actually used to be called the most selfish play because the dribbler usually ends up with 2 defenders and you leak away open, the timing/spacing of which takes a lot of time and practice to learn. He should be calling for and getting the ball after like 75% of those picks but he just doesn't have the timing, confidence, spacing or knowledge of keeping an angle for dribbler to find him.

Re: PG Pistons - Giannis & Brook!
Also, Dame plays like an Artificial intelligence computer app.. Everytime someone sets a pick for him, it lets him see how the defense reacts and what choices they make... which part of the floor do they leave open and which guy do they refuse to leave. The more you screen for Dame, the more he is going to dissect them as the game goes on.
Giannis has none of that none... he's a slithery battering ram and just as likely to dunk and he is to get a charge or hurt himself dribbling into people... GA should set the screen and leak away into the paint --- work on your 6 ft paint shot or just take it in strong like normal.

Re: PG Pistons - Giannis & Brook!
Being more direct: The less Giannis has to dribble into the paint, the less days he spends on the injured list this year
Furthermore; (breaking my no talking about KM til mid-Dec) the less Khris dribbles into the paint to jump over someone for a jump shot, the less feet he lands on this year and the less days he will spend on the injured list. Even more direct, Khris deciding to shoot 3's without jumping much would extend his whole career several years (health-wise)
Being clear, I know these things won't happen and they will spend a lot of time injured.

Re: PG Pistons - Giannis & Brook!
The primary problem is of course not the replay, but the fact that they made that call in the first place. There is always more contact on plays like that at the end of the game, and it's almost never called. But this wasn't that! It was obviously a clean play, Giannis was between the passer and Holland and broke it up. It's not one of those situations where like, it's usually a foul so they blew the whistle out of habit. They tried to throw a lob to a 6-6 guy over the top of a 7 foot freak athlete and it didn't **** work, as it almost never would. It wasn't even a good pass.
