I can't remember ever being so baffled by a trade. Will never be able to totally dismiss the worst and most nonsensical trade idea posts.

He will somehow tie it into HIS playing days in the league that has no relevance to the actual trade that happened.

Im going to pull my hair out if I hear another story about his glory dayz as the Knicks 10th man

"Well, ya know, Luka is a real good young player and he's an absolute superstar, so, ya know, there's gonna be a lot of people who really like this for the Lakers. But don't forget that AD is also a real good young player. So I think Dallas is gonna be real happy with the guy they got. It's like I used to tell the young guys trying to make their way in the league when I was their veteran mentor - ya know, sometimes you miss shots, but that shouldn't stop ya from taking them."

But also...what the **** is this Lakers team? Luka/Reeves/Lebron/Rui/??? LeBron's going to literally murder them by second quarter after they give up 73 points in the first quarter of their first game together.

Good call , Lakers knew they didn't have a team to compete for a championship , so they punted on this season with a eye to the future, Maybe the bucks should consider this concerning Middleton!

BigO gonna be really sad whenever he can't just wave away trade ideas saying "No GM is dumb enough to do that" since obviously there are GMs dumb enough to do that.

Disagree. I think maybe 30-40% we’re ok with that deal on the day it was made. And Ray hadn’t been single handedly taking us to the Finals six months earlier. This would be like us dealing Giannis in the dead of the night.

Well, I'm sure if someone calls offering a 25 year old superstar for Mids we'll consider it.

Where the countdown to Giannis in a Nets uniform for Ben Simmons and a 2041 1st?

I’m done watching the NBA for a bit. Gross.

What's the Middleton equivalent of this trade? Midds and Bobby for Jaren Jackson Jr.?

The ironic part is Nico Harrison hasn’t necessarily done a bad job. He’s made some shrewd moves to lift Dallas up. That’s the interesting disconnect here. Presumably he signed off on this.

A potential Mids equivalent would have been in June 2022 had we sent Mids to the Kings for Harrison Barnes and that #4 pick (I wanted Ivey, but Keegan also there). That trade would have taken major guts on the part of the Bucks.

One more thing ...
Investigate Bucks owners connections with Adam Silver and Boston Celtics.

The way the Bucks have lost assets and put themselves on rott mode is suspicious. Who is Horst ? Investigate him ... We have been handcuffed and our obvious mobile big need has not been filled for years now.
We lost some serious assets even before the Ring.
The Brogdon trade, the Jabari Parker asset..the haul of picks for Jrue, the latest Brook deal, the stupid coach hires both Griffin and Doc ...
Something is suspicious with the Bucks Org too.

Consider that Dame's trade made Boston a better team too. Jrue ended up in Boston.

Lol at thinking something's up with the Bucks org

Saw the pod with Simmons, Russillo and Mahoney. This confirms that Giannis is the most disrespected generational star among the NBA geek media. They consider Luka better than Giannis, when Horst would never even think twice to shop Freak even last year when he tweaked his calf before the playoffs.

Trade was an abomination and no sane commissioner would have even allowed that to happen, though.

I think the Mavs wanted to punish Luka for some reason. Because of the trade, Luka is no longer eligible for the Max extension. Huge financial loss for him.

I say this drawing from an old adage in detective type books: If you have eliminated every other option, the one remaining option must be the truth, no matter how unlikely that seems to be.

Thoughts?

We don't have to look further than our own team. Greivis Vazquez had negative value, yet we traded a 1st & 2nd for him.

At least in this case they get an outstanding player back and can try to argue defense & fatness. You can rationalize.

Kidd was around for both.

Would have taken guts, but I think everybody would have *understood* it. Like, it wouldn't have required what I'm going to call Dark Information to explain.

What could the Mavs have gotten for Luka if it'd been known he was available?

Mavs fans might literally riot.

If that was the case, I don’t think they would’ve sent him to LA. He’s going to make a ton more money in endorsements than he was in Dallas.
