I guess. He had a nice block but other than that its mostly been bad with him.

We are getting almost nothing out of the 4 spot tonight.

The thing with Yi is that when he's having a bad game, he's still active. He's still hustling, still boxing out, still moving around on offense. CV on the other hand stands in one place praying that one of his three's go in.

I generally agree, Steger. I'd just love to get a prospect who we didn't have to say "hey he's hustling around out there and setting great screens !" even though he has 2 points on 1-5 shooting and 3 rebounds 4 out of 5 games. It was the same thing with Bogut.

I'm not IN ANY WAY giving up on Yi, it would just be nice if he has had a couple of more nice games since that 29 point effort.

I'll try to be patient. :P Its just that with years and years of draft frustration I'd love for Yi to show himself to be a clear home run pick.

Bad end to the quarter there, giving up 5 straight points to Wallace, making us lose the lead.

Yep, along with Yi's obvious skills, he also hustles and does the little things. That's why I'm so confident he'll be a very good one.

Yi's games after the 29 point game:

8 and 5 on horrible shooting: BAD GAME
10 and 7 on good shooting: GOOD GAME
12 and 8 on good shooting: GOOD GAME
12 and 8 on good shooting: GOOD GAME
10 and 7 on good shooting: GOOD GAME
8 and 9 on ok shooting: SOLID GAME

I haven't looked at other rookies, but I can't imagine others are doing any better. Sure, he hasn't had a superstar type game since the 29 points, but he's still had very good games. A lot more consistant than Bogut is.

I'm not worried about Yi at all. How many opportunities does he honestly get to showcase his talents? How often does he get enough or consistent minutes?

I wish they would start giving him 30+ minutes consistently so he can show what he can do.

Charlie Bell has upped his shooting % a full 2% in the first half and is now shooting 29.3%. Lets  he keeps this up and can get over 30% by the end of the game.

I'm trying to figure out why Villanueva played nearly the entire second quarter with Yi on the bench. What was it that Villanueva was doing that merited all that playing time? The 1 point he scored on 0-for-5 shooting?

Bogut's playing pretty well by the way. And he's outplaying a center everyone agrees is better than he is.

Oh, there's definitely no rookie whose been doing much better besides Durant and maybe Horford.

I'm just really hoping we for once get a star type draft pick so I'm hoping for a little more than 10/7 to qualify as a "good" game at this point even if that is unrealistic at this point. I completely admit it is. I would just sleep easier at night if Yi had a few more 20+ outings. :D

Like I said, its probably just the frustration of watching guys like Ford and Bogut for years trying to convince myself someday they were going to be elite players at their position... often justifying avarage/poor performances with the old "they do the little thiings!" or "they have the intangibles" arguments...
