If the Bucks are going to trade for a veteran, I'd guess that Hammond and Dumars would be most likely to help each other out. Dumars would love the #8 and would probably be willing to give up one of his core guys to get it. Would Joe trade Tayshaun? You never know.

Things that would piss me off on draft night:

1. Moving back in the draft and barely increasing the talent level of the other players involved, when guys like Gordon/Alexander were there at 8
2. Drafting Lopez, Gallinari, Augustin, Jordan
3. Trading the pick for a player in a deal that isn't better than Redd/Bogut, and screams "win now" but with no ceiling.

Salaries aren't close to matching. Diaw has 4/$36M left on his deal. That's one of the things that's making it tough for the Suns to move him. He's a good player but he isn't worth $9M a year.

Wow would that be horrendous. It can't be overstated how overrated and overpaid Diaw is.

I meant Mo for Haslem.

Villanuea/Dez/8 for Prince would work. Maybe the Pistons throw in the 29th pick but I already think it's tilted in the Bucks' favor without it.

Can't see Dumars making that trade with the Bucks, though. That would be a killer trade for the Bucks in my opinion.

If we swap picks with Memphis, I hope the rumors that Minnesota likes Love and Seattle likes Bayless/Westbrook are true:

1. Rose
2. Beasley
3. Love
4. Bayless/Westbrook
5. Mayo

I think that's a little steep for Prince, even though he's a good fit on this roster.

I think he's the best player in the deal and I'm not sure it's close. I think he's a much better player than Villanueva and I think the odds are against the Bucks drafting anyone at 8 who will be as good as Prince is. I can't see Dumars going for it because I think it significantly enhances the Bucks' chances for improvement. Is that something he really wants to do? If he respects Hammond - and I'm sure he does - would he want to hand him a potential gift like Prince in a trade? I'd love to see it happen but I'm just not sure we see Dumars and Hammond do business on a major scale like that.

Since everyone is speculating. Here is a scenerio.

Bucks trade Bogut to Minnesota for #3

Bucks then trade #3 (Mayo) and Mo (later) to Miami for #2 (Beasley) or better yet
Bucks trade #3 and Charlie Bell for #2

It sounds like Miami isn't sold on Beasley and they would consider Mayo. If the Bucks could get to that number #3 spot, I think Miami would be willing to deal for #3 and either Bell or Mo.

I'd probably do that if we could dump Gadzuric. I don't see a huge fall off from 8-15 in this draft. I'd like it if the Suns to included Alando Tucker as well. It sounds like they are pretty desperate to move into the top 10.

CV/8 is a decent amount to give up. If we're going to use that in a package it needs to be for a player that has a chance to be better than Bogut/Redd.

And I will disagree that Prince is definitely better than Gordon/Alexander.

Michael Redd for Keith Van Horn and Kerry Kittles.

Seriously.

Okay, I'm done.

Even dumping Gadz, that is a poor deal for the Bucks. Gordon/Alexander is better than what will be available at 8, and Diaw is making a ton for what he brings. He's still living off that one fluke year, he's extremely overrated.

That's essentially what my offer is. Dez is worthless. He's there to help with salaries and he has an expiring deal so the Pistons will be rid of him in no more than a year's time. For all intents and purposes, the trade would be Villanueva/8 for Prince. I think that's a steal for the Bucks.

Prince is a very good role player. He's a good defender and he hits big shots. That said, he's a career 12.3/4.5/2.5 on 46.7% player. Do I think Alexander is a lock to match that? No. Do I think he has a very good chance to match that production while also being able to defend because of his athletic ability, strength, and willingness to work hard? Yes, I do, and that isn't even putting CV into the equation.

For this this roster, I would take a 21 year old Alexander + whatever we can get in return for CV over a 28 year old Prince.

If we're going to move the pick I want to try and make major splash with it (i.e. trying to move up significantly in the draft or doing it in a package to land a player that could be the best on our roster next year).

I should probably submit my guess.

Outlaw, #13, Jack & Cash for Gadz & #8. Oh yeah.
Go Bucks!
