Because it's relevant in terms of trying to predict the type of return Hammond may be seeking or may obtain for Bogut. This is uncharted territory for him as a GM and the Bucks under Kohl. Hammond has never traded his best player and Kohl rarely signs off on such a deal. So there's no good gauge one can make that will be able to predict what Hammond is going to do here. If you lack faith in his ability as a GM, that's fine. All I'm saying is that since his track record does not include any trades involving his best player there's really no way to know how this is going to turn out.

+1

How sad is this?

When the Bucks eventually leave Milwaukee it will have little to do with John Hammond imo.

Berger's updated article, after the news about Houston dropping out:

Milwaukee also has discussed various trade scenarios with Washington for Bogut, but while that would be another acceptable destination to the 7-foot Australian, the Wizards' overtures thus far have been shot down. Washington, however, could re-enter the fray depending on how the complicated possibilities with Golden State, Orlando and Houston play out over the next 48 hours.

Efforts to engage the Warriors with the Bulls and Lakers in trade talks for Ellis have been unsuccessful, multiple sources said Monday. What the Bucks would receive in a three-team scenario with Golden State and Orlando is still under discussion -- as is what the Magic would surrender.

How did the trade work out? Were we better off a season later because of it? Did we advance past the first round of the playoffs for the second time in the last 20 years? Like I said, this board's capacity for having long term franchise success expectations are ridiculously and pathetically low right now.

If you really do think that Salmons trade was great for the future of our franchise and not for a short second half of season stretch, then yeah - I think it's a great call on my part.

Where did I say the Salmons trade was great for the future of the Bucks' franchise. Please point that out in the post I made.

Europa, don't play dumb! You know exactly what you said and exactly what you meant!

I can honestly say that none of these deals being bandied about make the Bucks any better then they currently are.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the Bucks FO leaked the Rockets offer just so we'd crown Hammond if he landed Curry instead.

Either way, I'm not opposed to standing pat if that kinda garbage is being offered.

Of course I do. I said the Salmons trade was a great trade and it was. That should be rather obvious. I see no logical reason to state otherwise given how good Salmons was for the Bucks that season, how little it took to acquire him and the success the Bucks had as a result.

The decision to re-sign Salmons was not a good move. However, that's an entirely separate transaction and should be judged as such in my opinion.

I'm not excited about any of these rumors so far. I'm preparing for the worst at the deadline. I'd rather stand pat than force a trade just to shake things up which seems to plan the plan at this point.

Of course there is! If one sucks at trading small apples for small oranges, you better believe he'll also suck at trading large apples for large oranges. Why wouldn't he? This is such an unfounded blind faith on your part.

I think there's some good relationship potential in a 3 way with GS and ORL.

Just us and GSW I'd sign off on a Bogut/Dunleavy/Brockman for Biedrins/Udoh/Thompson/Wright deal

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6064455

Keeps our tank rolling and Udoh and Thompson are as good as picks. Wright is a decent throw in.

I think the GSW and ORL part will be tough. ORL wants Monta, but there really isn't much return for GSW.

There's a reason there were Raptors fans coming in here hoping for a thee way where they get Curry for their pick.

There's a reason Curry was once the main piece for a potential CP3 trade.

There's a reason the Celtics apparently offered Rondo for Curry.

If Hammond did get Curry, he should get a lot of credit IMO, and I hate the man with a **** passion.

Yeah, because the end of the FTD season SUCKED SO BAD. Are you **** kidding me? You can't sit there and tell me that ride we had there was fun as hell until Bogut went down, and guess what, that Atlanta series still turned out to be pretty damn good? If Bogut didn't go down, we may have actually made noise in the playoffs, and we might have been a lot better last year.

BUT, because hindsight is 20-20, you're going to sit there and tell me that that trade didn't work out? Get real.

How in the hell could you sign off on that? That is beyond awful.
