I feel like Houston is going to go after Gasol with all these picks.

I just read a few articles that said Houston was eager to dump Dalembert's salary. That doesn't mean picking it up is necessarily a bad move, it just means that the Bucks were stupid to include Leuer.

You know what I meant. I would have rather not included Leuer too, but the reality is that there are three young PF/C already on the roster better than him, and that could be five if we re-sign Ilyasova or draft another. It's not like he was ever going to start here.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone on this board wanted to go into the season with Sanders and Udoh at center.

That likely wasn't going to be an option (although the Bucks do seem intent on Sanders working more at C next season in a backup role). Looking at the likely scenarios this to me is far preferable than making a horrible pick for a C at 12 or going with Gooden in the starting lineup at C again.

I'm happy that we're grading our professional basketball team on a curve of incompetence.

I wish we had any evidence whatsoever that the Bucks want to decrease Gooden's minutes.

Everything we have heard though has indicated that we see him as our 'most consistent front court player' as I think Europa once referred to him (please clarify if I got that wrong).

Skiles likes Gooden and Hammond doesn't want to admit his deal was an albatross. That is a poor combination.

I rarely remember Skiles or Hammond talking bad about Gooden, if at all. I would think they still view him as an integral part of this team. Remember the excuse of him being injured as why we were losing?

For me, it boiled down to alternatives. I did not want to see Gooden starting and I loathed the idea of using the 12th pick on Leonard or Zeller. I was fine going with Sanders/Udoh for a season and then looking to address the position more significantly next year which now can be done since Dalembert is an expiring.

Yeah. What this means to me is Gooden is starting at PF this year.

But I can hope that he is amnestied/traded/benched until the season starts... can't I? :D

Sanders still can really. Daly played an average of 22 mpg last year, so they could still share the minutes. Plus, I don't think we will see Gooden playing C anymore seeing how as how terrible that worked out.

Our frontcourt is stacked now though. Udoh, Daly, Sanders, Moute, Gooden, Ersan (?).

Looks like Ersan might be lost, but maybe we can trade Luc for a late first?

John Canzano: The more I talk with NBA people about Terrance Ross, (G, Washington) the more I wonder about Portland nabbing him at No. 11

Be Milwaukee. :D

Seriously, though, this is a good deal as we sit here today. We need to see what happens at 14 but other than losing Leuer I can't think of a single negative thing about this move.

I love how everything devolves into pure hatred for Gooden. For the love of god, get him off this team.

I fear you are correct...about Jones, I would love to get Ross at this point.

The team will be significantly better defensively without Gooden's useless ass not clogging up the lane. Hopefully he can't get minutes at PF if Ersan is re-signed.

So wait we trade for a guy in dally, while at the same time hopping that Sanders/Udoh turn out to be him(reducing their respective playing time)

Also for all those against drafting lenard or zeller, wouldn't you be more concerned about a GM who passes up two guys at the top of his board because we have a guy who's going to be gone next off season?

All in all this is pretty bad, would much rather let Sanders/Udoh play and not risk our guy getting snatched up at 12 or 13.

The Rockets had briefly acquired Gasol before David Stern got involved in the Chris Paul sweepstakes.

Lakers seem more intent than ever on trading him. Rockets might be buyers, and could have the Lakers and Hawks give competing offers, if not try to pick up both of them.
