He has certainly had some highlight plays but Pierce did too. I don't think of him as explosive. I also dislike the midrange J and he LOVES 'em. Which is probably where some of my Pierce talk stems from. I'd have to see his shot chart but it seems to be like he settles a lot just so he can have the shot. I certainly don't think of his as a great passer. I mean he had the ball on most possessions (unlike Wiggins who spent time on the block doing nothing - put it together Bill Self) and ended up with one assist. Seems like a shoot first point forward. Maybe Gordon Hayward.

Either way, I don't think his ceiling is anywhere near Wiggins or even Randle.

Gordon Hayward? Are you kidding? And, Gordon isn't shoot first - even on the herrendous Jazz team. But, Parker has way more together coming into the league than Hayward did. it's not even close. Parker is also more explosive right now than Hayward will ever be. This being said, Hayward is a nice player.

Hayward is shooting 16.4 FGA this year. That's more than LeBron.

And he was one (albeit half court) shot from taking Butler to a National Championship. That's far better than anything Parker will do this year.

Comparing Parker to Hayward seems pretty lazy to me. Not a good comp at all imo

I probably sounded like a Parker "hater" in the other thread, but I'm really not. I'd be absolutely ecstatic with him, but if you gave me the choice it isn't even an argument to me. Parker is going to be able to score, probably better then even Wiggins, but I don't think he's going to do much else where Wiggins I think will give you a lot elsewhere. I'm not on the boat that Wiggins is some generational transcendent player, but I think he gives you a lot more to winning basketball games then Parker does. Like I said, I'd be ecstatic with Parker, but I don't think he's some surefire championship level keystone.

Just from what I saw, Parker looked great and it would be hard to pass on him but damn, Wiggins just has something. Can't quite put my finger on it. He didn't seem to be having much impact on a game and still went 22 and 8.

I also didn't like a few of his shots.

He's a better athlete than pierce IMO. His athleticism isn't really a concern, he's huge and explosive while still being coordinated. Excellent footwork too. Sounds like you have seen 1 game. He settled for a few jumpers in the 2nd half that wern't great shots. Still, that was after he went off in the first half scoring by attacking the basket and bombing 3s at a ridiculous clip. He's so damn skilled.

As for his assist totals, meh. He had 2 more if his teammate makes a wide open shot. Also, you have to remember that Kansas is a really good team that is going to be able to double, and rotate over after the initial pass. That doesn't make Parker less impressive because his pass out of a double initiated the ball reversal that led to the defense scrambling.

And everyone knows I'm the biggest Gordon Hayward fan there is, but Parker is so far beyond him as a prospect. Both are all around players with a high skill level who are really smart and understand how to play basketball, but Parker is just better.

Assuming.hoping.praying we're in the top 6ish, I would kill for another pick to get Gary Harris. I'm loving his game.

If you pick in the top 6 of this draft you are a chance to change your team's future for the better. It's amazing how deep that franchise changing potential runs in this draft- I'm not saying deep draft, but deep for huge potential. If you aren't competing you have to tank, you just absolutely have to tank.

Totally agree. He's super smooth. Strong. Great finish in traffic. Good handle. Decent jumper. I see him as a verifiable PG/SG prospect. I'd love a chance at him and one of the big 3.

Where can we get highlights, etc on Exum?

Good Chad Ford interview at this link.

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9957456

As Ford said, I don't need the number one pick in the draft to get a superstar. I need a top five pick to get a superstar in this draft. He's right.

Just hope like heck the Bucks don't blow this. This is our ticket out of this mess. Parker, Wiggins and Randle all looked like all-world players last night.

I didn't watch from start to finish, but yeah, I thought Parker came off pretty polished.

I saw the first half and a good chunk of the 2nd of the MSU-Kentucky game and the beginning and end of Kansas-Duke. MSU is so tough as always. Andrew Harrison (I think Andrew?, I mean the point guard) looked bad. Randle is good and took over for a stretch or two. Those guys have some bad body language; that team looks like a bunch of AAU high school guys who are entitled and get upset/incredulous/sluggish when a call or whatever else doesn't go their way, which I guess is what that team actually is. The difference in MSU and Kentucy's attitude/body language was conspicuous.

I thought Wiggins looked great. Didn't dominate the ball, not sure if that's personality or the KU offense or a mix, but man he's good. He was assertive when he wanted to be and was always into the game. Great first step, balanced, in-control, while still explosive and athletic on offense. If he can knock down the jumper, which he did when I was watching, he's a guy right now who could easily be an NBA team's first option on a possession when they need a score.

Yeah, Parker looked good too. Man there was that really high alley-oop early in the game that he got down, like Grant Hill against UNLV back in the data.

We'll see at the end of the year, but right now Wiggins and Parker look to me like the class of the draft. Based on yesterday, I'd definitely pick either of those guys over Randle et al. For the Bucks, Wiggins would be my first choice. He could play SG no problem, and Giannis could be at SF next to him. WOW, that's a lot of play-making.

I completely agree on UK. The Harrison twins in particular were unimpressive and entitled. And, it was nice to see them lose because the didn't deserve that game imho.

Wiggins would be a sweet prospect at the 2 but I'm still having a hard time passing up Parker at the 3. Even with Giannis in the house. It's a great conversation though. Hopefully, we'll be lucky enough to debate this come next summer!

After watching the game last night, Parker reminds me a lot of Carmelo. Like Carmelo, he isn't a physical specimen. He doesn't have amazing speed or athletic ability. But like Carmelo, he's a naturally smooth offensive talent; a guy who could score on anyone. He needs to work on that first step, but I think he'd be an amazing fit on this roster.

Wiggins looked good, but he disappeared at points in yesterday's game. I get the impression that he's still trying to find his place in Self's system. Maybe the pressure - all bright lights and big crowds and absurdly high expectations - is getting to him at this point. Parker is more used to that, having grown up in Chicago, than Wiggins in his experiences in a relatively smaller town in Ontario. That being said, Wiggins showed flashes of his amazing natural ability yesterday, and I'd like to see how he develops over the next couple months.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
