He is a decent backup big....The team certainly got more interesting in terms of personality. Older and slower also so there's that.

Robin Lopez at that price is a nice pick up.

Mirotic and Brogdon feel like big losses. Glad we at least got picks for Brogdon. Brogdon's Back and foot were concerning. Hopefully we can make a savvy move with the picks and get a replacement for one of the two.

I say you still go after him. Make a deal to clear space. I am not sure what he's worth but my guess is his value went up a fair amount. We really do need to go get a guy like this. We have a couple of assets.

We would have to clear whatever salary he would make since we are already at zero dollars to spare. So Ersan + someone else probably. It would be very hard. The infinitely more realistic move us to use the TPE to trade for a shooter. Thats where those Indiana picks come in handy.

Deal to clear space? Have you seen our cap sheet? We're sitting at like 122ish committed after the Leuer stretch. Ersan doesn't get us to where we'd need to be.

Yeah, cap space is a thing of the past. The Bucks likely won't have space until like 2022, and if they have it then, it's a bad thing because that means Giannis is gone.

Theoretically stretching Leuer and having someone absorb Ersan would get us around $7 mil in cap space but it's probably better to just make sure we get the $12 million trade exception.

I don't know where you're getting that from. I'd have us at like 115ish.

We're squeezing Hill in with cap space. That deal will get us to basically $0. Ilyasova's contract is $7 million, so roughly $7 million in space.

This would all have to happen before we sign Middleton and Robin.

If he's healthy, he's definitely the plan. Higher ceiling than Brogdon for sure. A modern nba shooter with a fast trigger and can shoot on the move. But jesus... he's not even playing summer league games, that's concerning.

Maybe they’re holding him out knowing he’s going to be the probable starter?

Higher ceiling than Brogdon? He barely outshot Giannis from three this year.

Been looking at some of his numbers and watching highlight vids (for torture apparently). Damn I wish he ended up here this summer.

By my math, if we stretch Leuer and dump Ersan for nothing, we'd have $5,634,276 after the Hill and Lopez contracts, including the cap holds for Midds and Brogdon and an incomplete roster hold. So a proper sequencing could get us that signing plus the Brogdon TPE. Could be wrong.

Code: Select all

Player                     2019-20
Giannis Antetokounmpo      $25,842,697
George Hill                $9,206,349
Eric Bledsoe               $15,625,000
Khris Middleton hold       $19,500,000
Brook Lopez                $12,093,023
D.J. Wilson                $2,961,120
Donte DiVincenzo           $2,905,800
Pat Connaughton            $1,723,050
Malcolm Brogdon hold       $3,089,902
Sterling Brown             $1,618,520
Incomplete roster hold     $898,310
Jon Leuer (dead)           $3,169,348
Spencer Hawes (dead)       $2,007,058
Larry Sanders (dead)       $1,865,547
George Hill (dead)         $1,000,000

How does our TPE from Brogdon factor in here?

^You posted while I was editing. I included the Brog hold, so we'd maintain the TPE in this scenario by my figuring. Alternatively we could renounce him and have another ~8.6m slot to sign somebody outright -- might be preferable.
