There's no way in a million years i'd trade Damian Lillard for Ben Simmons... Pay back the loyalty Dame has shown by not trading him and keep the better player.

The way their team is built, they have to grind way too hard even for their wins.

Like I've been saying for years, never gonna be worried about Embiid in a playoff series so long as he continues to be a big softie who loves his fadeaway jumpers so much. Sixers also don't have an actual alpha on that team anymore, which compounds things.

I went for the Philly tears, but came away in awe of the inferiority complex that Raptors fans have. Bunch of tiny dix in that fanbase.

Raptors fans have basically become the Chicago Bears fans of the NBA. They're gonna cling to that lone championship like the '85 Super Bowl for the next 3 decades of 1st and 2nd round playoff exits.

How could ownership possibly have confidence in Vlade after that? You'd have to think that was a valid factor going into that choice in order to stick with him. Not all information is good or useful. How well you got along with his dad is pretty ****.

Luka's dad straight up denies the report.

Translation from reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/kings/comments/e1niqa/lukas_father_sasa_doncic_calls_espns_macmahon_out/

After the media from the former Yugoslavia reported this, my phone started ringing.

I am amazed at the unprofessionalism of the media. Even with ESPN, which is a serious sports media outlet, I would expect a different treatment. It is irresponsible that a journalist of such a highly respected media company is so quick to succumb to whisperers.

We laughed at it. Vlade have told me that if journalists ask me, let them know that we had a good laugh at this fake story.

Vlade have explained to me in the past that at that time they had good players at the guard position and wanted to fill the roster properly.

Yeah, still don’t buy it. If Doncic were a teenage Euroleague phenom with a Serbian father whom Vlade didn’t know/hadn’t played with I almost guarantee the Kings would’ve taken Luka. A Slovenian poster here maintains that Doncic Sr. has a reputation as a con man with a drinking problem over there, which I’m sure Vlade was wise to. There are a lot of reasons for both parties to vehemently deny this thing. Tim MacMahon is more plugged into the Mavs than anybody and a longtime Mavs staffer was on the podcast with him as revealed that nugget.

Honestly does it make Vlade look better if the reason was they had too many guards?

Man, Gasol is a good defender..

In other news, i watched a different clip from that game and learned that Drake is STILL hanging around. Shocking. Figured he would Costanza on that one.

We need to face them in the playoffs. It's our new Boston. I want to crush their souls and make them fully realize for the first time that without Kawhi they are back to being an annual disappointment. I want Giannis to hit two free throws in game four to seal the deal, and i want to see the look on Drake's face as he tries to kiss up to Giannis after the game only to watch Giannis fail to acknowledge his existence before walking right past him. And i want that to be a viral meme that transcends the sport.

Toronto won the title by virtue of that move at the trade deadline last year. Allowed them to get past us and Philly.

Our move for Mirotic and Philly’s move for Tobias didn’t do it. That Raptors move did.

Leo Rautins (Toronto color analyst, former player/coach) was right on the money in the 2nd quarter when he pointed out how Embiid refused to make eye contact with Marc Gasol as they were both waiting to check in at the scorers table. Got the impression early that Gasol was completely in Joel’s head, and he was right.

You should check Embiid's stats against Gasol.Gasol owns his soul.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

We should trade for Marc Gasol at the deadline. I know it wouldn't actually happen, but that would be hilarious lol.

You'd be paying back the loyalty by trading him into a perfect situation though.

I think Gasol could be a high level coach right now.

Clips bringing the Mavs back down to earth early. Having to deal with them for at least a couple years will be good for Lukas long-term development imo. Wouldnt mind this being a playoff series.

The Zinger hasn’t been great so far but I think he gets a free roll this year given the injury. It would be crazy of the Mavs to sell so low on him.
