I was thinking 30-45 days, but yeah, 2 weeks never sounded close to right to me.
Real talk, this is going to be an overwhelming experience for the globe. It is about to get much worse.

I can say with a high degree of certainty that this will not be over anytime soon. I presume that we reach the precipice in about 4-6 months.

We are not prepared, the situation in Vegas is remarkable as well. We are also in short supply of personal protection equipment, medications, and medical equipment. Case in point, three weeks ago all of the mechanical ventilators in the valley were in use. This includes DME companies that rent equipment to healthcare centers when they have utilized all of in-house machines. Note that this before the epidemic, it has been quite a season for respiratory insufficiency.

The forboding lack of necessary ICU beds needed to tackle this pandemic will create many very difficult decisions for traditional medical situations. Tough choices will be made.

I'm worried for America and I realize that this thing could ramp back up next fall/winter, but I think your timeline is off.

This thing is gonna hit us in like 1-2 weeks if it's really as bad as we think. Other countries already have this under control or are getting it under control. Even if it ravages America it should slow down in 3-4 months, no?

I guess that there is an economic shockwave after potentially and other countries that are going to be a month behind the US...but I think the window is earlier.

What’s going on in Vegas? One of my coworkers is considering going this weekend.

I would agree. If it gets bad, I’d bet it happens in next 2 weeks.

Mid, you are a doctor or in the medical field, correct?

I've talked to a few doctor friends and I am somewhat worried about the response. I do have confidence that a lot of states are getting prepped but I'm still not sure if it's enough. I mean, if you're an outpatient physician then maybe this isn't in your wheelhouse...yet. But are you guys prepping?

I’m not frontlines in A hospital or anything, but as with anything novel, no one has an idea what comes next. People are doing things just to say they’re doing something. We tried to order hand sanitizer today for the clinic but the medical supply company is out. How do you prep? Just hoping for the best and following the rest of the common sense anti transmission stuff.

I get the CDC alerts and Wisconsin Health Department alerts probably a couple hours before they’re public. I have no extra info, unfortunately.

Yeah...I guess my question is about maxing out capacity/ability to treat people if this thing hits Italy levels. Maybe that's something that a hospital or clinic has existing procedures for...just interesting.

If this suspension goes long enough I wonder how it might impact Olympic participation (ignoring the real chance of a cancellation) and the start of next season.

I think Milwaukee hospitals are busting at the seams already from the bit I hear. Not COVID related, just an unhappy coincidence (and systemic problem with systems closing rooms in already underserved read: poor areas)

Gobert should be charged with criminal negligence. What an asshat.

Gobert is going to be known more for this than for his play in 20 years.

One of the more concerning developments last night was that a few patients left 'AMA' awaiting completion of the testing process. Bravado, dissonance, and selfishness will increase potential vectors. No one wants to sit in isolation... Many of the medical centers have restricted visitors and visiting hours, and some folks are above that.
I needs shades for this future thing we owning..... 8-) 8-) 8-)

Gobert is certainly not the only one who isn’t (Wasn’t) taking this seriously.

There’s plenty of idiots out there. Several on this site.

Rudy might be the biggest doucebag in the league. Can't imagine his teammates are going to be too happy with him whenever regular activities start again.

I wasn't even allowed into Froedtert this morning for a routine delivery. First time that's ever happened.

When this was all ramping up and the articles about idiots leaving quarantine were just kinda expected to me. Baked into the equation.

What bothers me is that people are not really stopping daily life. My company is putting out all sorts of bulletins about screening visitors. Almost all of us can work from home! Tell us to do that!

Yeah, Gobert's entire reputation is never gonna recover from this. One of the greatest defenders of all-time, yet he's gonna be solely remembered for being a clueless moron who shut down the entire league. He'll be the butt of jokes for all eternity.
