How on earth are they giving the Warriors currently the 3rd best odds at the 2022 NBA Championship? Bettors can be **** morons.

Maybe someone on the inside knows GS has an inside track to land Dame? Reports were out yesterday that they are putting together a deal for him.

Re: ATL - Finals
I mean did you see what the Suns did to him in the sweep? The idea that he would have been anything but a huge net negative is defied by recent history. Which isn't to say Teague isn't a net negative and shouldn't be on the floor in the Finals. Just that Rivers was no savior and got eaten whole by this exact team.Frank Nova wrote:Hasn’t been pointed out to my knowledge but I think Austin Rivers would’ve helped so much more this postseason than Teague has... theoretically he could’ve slid into the DDV role and we wouldn’t have sacrificed so many minutes with Teague. Maybe it’s not discussion worthy but DDV missing in this series has been somewhat a topic of conversation and we kinda blew an opportunity to have a solid answer. Idk, not trying to be a downer, just seems like a missed opportunity. I know, no sense in crying over spilled milk.. but still. Maybe we aren’t down 2-1 right now tho? Anyone?

But, hoops is hoops, I don't care what they call it, if good players get together and play I wanna watch it. Ended up watching it at the hotel that year cause I just can't stand the Olympics.

Cliffnotes:
- 76ers have officially begun trade talks around Simmons and are looking for an all star caliber player in return. Interest in Simmons around the league is "robust".
- It's believed that John Collins may get a max offer in free agency, with Miami, Minnesota, Dallas, and San Antonio expected to pursure him. Those teams think Atlanta may let him walk rather than matching.
- The Knicks are aggressively pursuing Collin Sexton.
- Houston is aggressively trying to trade up to #1 and are separately trying to find a trade for Eric Gordon.
- Chicago and the Clippers are expected to pursue Lonzo Ball and New Orleans will likely let him leave if he receives a significant offer.

I think one of the most patriotic things a person can do is call their country out on its bull and not "stand" for it obediently. I'm not a veteran, but I appreciate what they've done. I don't appreciate the reasons they've had to do it most of the time.
The pledge of allegiance is a brainwashing project targeted on children in kindergarten or before. Celebrating bombs when you are one of the most devious nations in the history of the planet Earth isn't really my idea of gearing up for a sportsball game.
Give me a nation that doesn't manipulate the world while ignoring the needs of it's people and propagandizing a hidden agenda and I'll gladly sing.
Also, the pledge of allegiance has deep roots in slavery from what I recall. No thanks.
Can't say I know many nations in history that didn't abuse almost anyone they could when they had the opportunity. Even the Greeks did it when they had Alexander the Great, the guy was basically a hooligan with an army. The Brits did it, pick any country in the world and you literally have a 90% chance it has been invaded by the Brits at some point in time. The Russians did it, the Germans did it (probably a gold metal there for efficiency and effectiveness), the Chinese, the Japanese, the Spanish, the Belgians, the Portuguese, the French, pretty much every country did it when they felt strong enough. It's what nations do. It just gets harder and harder over the years with more and more backlash and reluctance as more and more people get informed and think like you. Even a less informed or even misinformed version of you still reacts more these days.

Sure, that’s definitely a valid point. I might argue tho that the system he was playing in mixed with the personnel he played with could’ve had a little more to do with it than just him simply being a net negative. Being asked to shoulder the load of Jamal Murray is a little different than being integrated in with our top 7 players... Don’t get me wrong, I’m not pegging him as a potential savior but big topic of conversation has been wing depth to this point for us, my only strong-ish opinion is he would’ve helped a lot more than Teague has...

Yea even as an anti Rivers guy it's clear at this point he'd have been better than Teague. At the time I was content with Teague but turns out he really hasn't brought anything. You can rip Rivers for losing to PHX but you also have to give him credit for being a key reason Denver won round 1.

I wanted Teague over Rivers but a healthy Donte renders them mostly moot in the playoffs.
And since I mentioned Donte, you know I have to mention that we should have drafted Huerter. Have I mentioned that before?

Imo Teague had been useful in these Finals. He's been far better defensively than Forbes, particularly keeping Payne in front, and it's nice to have another passable ball handler out there. If Forbes was shooting as well as he's capable of shooting, it'd be different, but it's not a good matchup for him otherwise. Glad we have Teague even if somebody better would be... better.

I've never been a fan of the whole playing for a National team of a country where you spent like, 4 years of your early childhood. Towns for instance, when he played for the Dominican National team and we're all like, dude, you were born and spent your entire life in **** New Jersey. It'd be like Giannis playing for the Nigerian team instead of Greece.

I don't doubt the interest is robust, but I'm skeptical that the return teams have in mind matches the 76ers expectations.

Not surprised and also think it's the right move. Most surprising to me is that Miami is interested.
- The Knicks are aggressively pursuing Collin Sexton.
Lol.

EG's got 3/60 left on his contract. He's not unmovable by any means, but it's not gonna be easy.
- Chicago and the Clippers are expected to pursue Lonzo Ball and New Orleans will likely let him leave if he receives a significant offer.
Lonzo legit looked good this year. My knee-jerk reaction here is that the Clipps would be a great spot for him.

Ηe probably should play for Nigeria if I'm perfectly honest, Greek basketball is kinda between generations right now, he's getting wasted. Every guy who has roots in two countries gets to pick their basketball nationality, and I think it's a great opportunity especially for fringe NBA guys or young guys like Matisse to show off to the world by playing for various countries. I didn't even mind Randolph playing for Slovenia, makes a better tournament.
I don't really care about the country aspect of it, I just wanna watch a strong basketball tournament with a nice distribution of talent and a chance for someone (anyone) to challenge the behemoth called team USA. It's really not much different as you guys hating NBA superteams because they ruin competition.

So I get it for the players but for the fans I don't know how it's not fun to watch your hyper athletes abuse various slow unathletic dudes from allover the world
For everything else I generally root for the USA, but I feel like it's hard to find a situation where a country has been as consistently dominant over every other country for so long, so I always find myself torn between wanting the US to win and rooting for the team who in every game is considered a massive underdog. And I admittedly sometimes find a certain joy in watching the very American style of flailing around and throwing up terrible shots looking for a whistle going unrewarded.
