Haven’t watched NBA Countdown on ESPN in years. Did today. The Dame to Miami stuff is over the top. Hope Cronin sends him to Utah.

Send him to Charlotte for a second rounder out of spite.

If they don't trade him he can sit out, not get paid and the Blazers will get a nice lottery pick while letting their youngsters get experience.

I'd love for the Blazers to be the first team to not cave. No way they should make a deal not in the best interest of the team.

I'm still salty about Kareem.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Crazy how most people were firmly in Dame's corner less than two weeks ago to what it is now. I 100% blamed the front office for continuing to tow the treadmill line, and all Dame would have to do is just give a list of 3-4 preferable teams and everyone would have come out looking fine in all this. Instead, dude chose pettiness and the one option that all but guarantees his legacy suicide with the one franchise and city that did nothing but embrace him.

Maybe I’m being strict but Lillard seems like… not a good enough player to be doing this? I see people saying “he deserves a shot at a championship,” but to me it doesn’t seem like a big tragedy if he never wins a title or languishes on a mediocre team. Entertaining player but what are we doing here? Do people think this guy is going to leave a legacy?

Better yet, make him sit out until right before the trade deadline then trade him to Milwaukee for Middleton/Bobby/Grayson "out of spite."

I don't begrudge Dame and his agent for what they're doing, they're doing what they believe is in their best interest. But Portland is also going to do the same. Miami probably also feels that they are offering a fair package. I don't think any of them are wrong. I think the crux of it is that in a vacuum, Miami's package isn't a bad one but Portland's personnel makes Herro less valuable to them than he perhaps would be to any other team in the league. And the biggest difference between the two sides right now might be that Portland simply has no urgency to get a deal done. Its July 6th, more than 100 days before the season starts. And while a deal could certainly be agreed to in principle before then, any deal would almost certainly not become official until August 1 because that's the soonest Jaime Jacquez can be traded.

Never forget when Lillard went at PG for “running from the grind”

This whole thing is baffling. Especially the news today that he wouldve welcomed Golden State. Like a completely different human

I read about that! So bizarre. She gave him a tap on his shoulder, which thinking about it, how did she reach up to his shoulder. And she got smacked.

Damn. The weird part was after she picked up her glasses she said, "hit me baby one more time."

Lillard's on the back-nine of his career. I don't have a problem with him seeing the future in Portland and saying he wants out. He's given them 12 years to get their act together around him and they've failed spectacularly.

The timing isn't awesome, though, and destroying your trade value on the way out sucks. He also signed his extension not even a year ago and it wasn't like he could have thought they were going to contend.

No one looks great here.

Any deal will be in the best interest of the team when the alternative is nothing.

Phoenix traded two future first round pick swaps to Memphis for three second round picks.

That seems like a bad idea for Phoenix. Rationale is they can now use the seconds in future trades.

Has a team ever been as all in as Phoenix is next season? They're placing a **** ton of faith in 2 guys with very questionable long term health prospects. I wonder how this very large roll of the dice will be viewed in 5 years from now.

While I'd like more, I'm incredibly happy that we got one instead of getting a taste of it and turning desperation to maximum levels.

Wonder where we'd be now if we lost that Finals

Lillard should just retire if he becomes "unhappy player".

They should just just call Lillard's bluff, he isn't sitting out **** let alone 4 years. Let him cry and ruin his reputation.

If you’re Portland and you can’t find a 3rd/4th team to give up value for them, would you rather have Herro/Robinson on their current contracts, or nothing?

I think I’d rather have nothing.
