As a regular listener to the Sixers Ricky Sanchez podcast, those guys weren't sad to see him go. And will note, the year prior they weren't sad to see George Hill go either. If Thybulle is the absolute best we can do, fine, but he's low on my priority list.

PJ's owed $11 and $11 for this year and next. I don't see an incentive for them to outright cut him. And are limited in being able to pick him up, given we are over the second apron?

people keep suggesting that PJ will get cut. PJ makes 11.5 next season (a player option that is DEFINITELY getting picked up), i dont know if LA is going to just take that on in dead money when it doesn't really benefit them. If they dont want him, then they can easily trade him. If they do want him, then obviously he stays. I'm assuming there isn't much reason for him to play much right now and that if they do want him for the playoffs they will keep his 39 year old body nice and fresh.

it would be awesome to get him back, especially playing under someone like Griff, but i dont think it's likely. Trading Pat or Bobby for him would be really dumb considering the age differences.

i thought that too, but no. He would have to make at least the mid level exception which is 12.4M this season. dont think they cut him, but if they do we CAN sign him.

i feel like Thybulle was a beast on defense when we played Portland but missed practically all of his wide open 3s (counter to his good percentage the past two seasons). this is a tough game to play, because if we trade culture guys like Bobby and/or Pat, we need to be damn sure we are getting a great defender in return. Otherwise i think we lose the transaction.

Love PJ and he should have been a Buck these last few years, but that ship has sailed. He can barely move out there anymore. It's over.

Giannis is currently averaging his lowest 3pa since 2015-16 season. Who gets the credit?

I’d hope that Dame would be the 1 to tell him how badly he’s wasting possessions by trying to shoot 3s. 1 or 2 a game if you’re open is fine but anymore is exactly what I said, a wasted possession. Giannis is too good to be firing up unwarranted 3s thinking he’s KD, he’s better when he thinks he’s Shaq.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

These guys are exactly right. Giannis doesn't roll hard to the rim. I think that is why Brook and Dame seem better at pick and roll than Giannis and Dame.

Watched the JJ Pod clip above. He talked about Dame's shooting being above his career average as of late. Checked his math...

The Bucks have played 20 games. Dame in his last 10:

Points: 27.7
Rebounds: 4.8 (career high: 4.9)
Assists: 8.7 (career high: 8.0)
Steals: 1.1 (career high: 1.2)
Turnovers: 2.7 (2.2 if you take out the 7 against Chi) (career low: 2.4)

46.96% FG (career high: 46.3)
54.1% 2pt (career high: 57.4)
38.8% 3pt (career high: 40.1) on 8.5 per game
91.3% FT (career high: 92.8) on 8.1 per game

All of that, and i think any bucks fan would be able to tell you that there is still a good chunk of headroom there.

Decided to do Giannis last 10 as well:

Points: 30.9 (career high: 31.1)
Rebounds: 12.0 (career high: 13.6)
Assists: 6.0 (career high: 5.9)
Steals: 1.7 (career high: 1.6)
Blocks: 1.3 (career high: 1.9)
Turnovers: 3.9

62.9% FG (career high: 57.8)
66.1% 2pt (career high: 64.1)

21.5% 3pt (nah)
66 % FT on 9.4 per game

Another nice thing about Dame is that he can pretty clearly be a capable defender even given his size limitations when he's engaged. Which is usually at the end of the game.

Not sure what type of player you are looking for, or who the Bucks can get that is better than Thybulle. I think some would call Thybulle elite on the defensive side of the ball and he has become a solid shooter from deep, in fact he is shooting 48% on corner 3's this year.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

I don't think Thybulle is the same player he was in Philly, he has a different level of confidence and has been made much more comfortable to shoot than he was under Rivers. Thybulle is also very much a Dame guy.

Giannis' three point attempts were trending down last season as well. He deserves credit for taking that junk out of his game.

RoLo is getting the lead assistant job. Gets to keep laying on the sideline having a blast.

Dame. Probably covered in their film sessions where they figured out how to fix the offense since the players are the ones making all the adjustments, or at least making all the suggestions that AG has to rubber stamp.

Giannis' 3PT attempts have been steadily going down since 2020 but you guys are just gonna blindly attribute it to Dame? Lol
