They wanted and needed a superstar in LA as LeBron will be gone.

But it would be so much easier to force the Giannis to LA trade than it would Luka to LA.

the world is a little different between now and 1985. like yeah the rich and powerful are corrupt but why would owners in Washington and Utah sit silently while they just lost possibly hundreds of millions of Flagg is as good as we think he is.

The Bucks didn’t have a lotto pick to fall back on and the “chance” to get #1

I.e. there’d be no way to pay them back for the giveaway.

I mean it’s not a legal trade. Mavs have to send out like $49M in salary to make the deal possible. Also they don’t outright own their 26 and 28 picks, there’s already swaps and trades involved. The next fully unprotected pick they can send would be 2031.

Wizards screwed themselves when they raped us in the Kuzma trade.

What would they do?

And how would they even know definitively?

And would they really care, when revenue is shared and gate revenue is a low percentage of total income?

Plus the cavs winning the lotto the year they traded the pick for K-Love.

What Bron wants Bron gets.

Don’t forget the Fibs getting their hometown lad D Rose in 2008 with even lower odds of winning than what Dallas had today.

All for Giannis to go play with a big who can't stretch the floor and no guards. Yeah, it's not happening

Giannis and AD fighting for the "power forward" spot would be kinda funny.

They have the right general idea. They don't need to be cap experts too.

I guess Kyrie would opt in & they'd trade his swollen body to have side-by-side ice baths w/ Dame. Or they deal a few role guys w/ Coop, after he's signed to give himself a double-digit cap value. Maybe get a 3rd team involved so they could send those guys there, & get something else back.

In all seriousness it’s prob not the elaborate conspiracy I’d like to think it is. Dallas prob would’ve made the Playoffs if Davis didn’t instantly get injured and Kyrie blow his ACL out. Still shady af though.

How likely was Philly to get the third pick?

They had 5th best odds for the #1 pick so a little less than 50% that they'd be top 4.

He will kill teams from the high post with his passing and quickness. Unfortunately his lack of effort on defense also translates, but he’s young. Probably a KAT-ish level type of player.

KAT's the greatest shooting big man of all-time and a legitimately awesome athlete. I see Queen as more of a Diaw type if he reaches his ceiling.
